A/N: Yay finally updated this story! Sorry for the delay on this one, I wasn't feeling the juices flowing for this story since I was feeliing a bit lazy and whatnot lol. But here's the chapter enjoy! :)

Chapter 25: Success

Sesshomaru was a bit nervous as he reached towards the flickering light bulb to change it, not because of his job, but whose floor he was currently on. He was engrossed in his work, not realizing the soft ding that came from the elevator. He nearly flinched when a familiar voice, soft and sweet as honey, greeted him.

“Good morning Taisho-san,” Kagome started, giving him a pleasant smile. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”

He wanted to scoff, but he held back as this woman was his superior. “You didn’t startle me.”

She nodded even though she was amused that he tried to hide the little shake of his shoulders when she opened her mouth. “I don’t mean to sound too forward, but I was wondering if I can take you out for lunch today?” She saw his mouth open and she hastily finished her sentence, giving him a reason why she offered. “I wanted to repay you back for saving me, it’s the least I could do.”

Sesshomaru thought for a second, feeling as this was a surreal moment; the CEO of Higurai was asking if he wanted to go to lunch with her. He saw the hopeful gleam in her cerulean-hued eyes, that glistening smile causing a unfamiliar sensation to warm him, especially his cheeks. He looked straight ahead, not exactly looking at her and nodded his head, albeit hesitatingly.

“Great!” Her smile widened to the point her cheeks were hurting. “What time do you usually have lunch?”
