She didn’t know how long she sat on the roughen floors of the hut, surrounded by the other villagers. She knew it wasn’t long as time hasn’t shifted to daylight as of yet, it was still pitch black.

When will morning come!? It’s excruciatingly frustrating just sitting here like ducks!

Sighing, she felt utterly helpless. It made her feel anxious and tensed, she knew something was bound to happen. Something always does happen eventually.

Time will only tell. After all, bad things tend to happen to her as her luck wasn’t very good.

She just hope it wasn’t anytime soon, she rather live and see the daylight once more. Maybe she might escape once dawn approaches…

That’s not very helpful Kagome. She shook her head, feeling foolish to even think that cowardly thought. She needed to help these people, even though her powers won’t do squat against those things. She was setting herself up to death and here she thought her death would be of old age, not a gruesome one such as being torn apart like a ragged doll while still alive.

Yeah, escaping was sounded very tempting with each passing second.

No! I have to try!

What could she do, she wasn’t very efficient with any type of weapon besides her bow and she left that back at the inn, with the rest of her personal belongings.

Another sigh escaped her lips, she was useless. She should have taken up swordsmanship from Sango, then she would have been a bit experienced in close-quarter combat. But alas, she didn’t because she naively said she would be alright with just her bow.  

A noise came from outside, metal against metal, she knew it was some type of weapon.

Everybody held their breaths, until one baby woke up and started whimpering.
