Mess Up Your Favourite Outfit Day

Everything goes Rumiko-sama.

Today was getting worse by the second. I put on my college uniform to find out it had a stain on it. For the college I went to this was unacceptable. I ramaged through my closet to find a possible replacement. the search was in vain as I realized all my other uniforms were dirty and today was going to be missed.

Still trying to decide what was best to wear I called up Eri, a friend that happened to be in all the same classes I should be in for the day. Waiting for her to pick up I choose to put on my favourite comfy outfit; an aqua colored T-shirt with my drawstring yoga pants.

“Hello?” Eri answered.

“Hey.” I answered somewhat more happy she had picked up her phone. “Can you do me a favor and record the lectures today?”

“Sure, may I ask why?”

“Of course. The only college uniform I have clean has a stain in an unseemly place. The terrible thing is I don’t know how it got there!”

“You, worrying over a stain. I thought this day would never come.” Yeah, I never thought it would either; A day I worried over stains rather than a youkai trying to destroy the world. “Anyways class is about to start and I got to get recording for you. Bye.”

“Bye.” I hung up and started gathering my clothes in a basket before placing them in the trunk of my car. Driving to the laundry mat, I thought of stopping by the shrine, but didn’t. It would cause too much pain. I had already moved on with my life and planned to keep it that way. The traffic wasn’t so bad this morning so the drive was quick. I hurried to put my clothes in the washer so that they would get done faster. Digging in my pocket I realized I didn’t bring any coins with me. I looked through my purse for any money and found a dollar. Smiling like I had just defeated Naraku all over again, I turn to the closest person only to freeze in mid-thought.

The person had long shiny hair… silver hair. Could it be? I said the first thing that came to mind.

“Inuyasha?” The person looked up but did not confirm with the name.

“How do you know my father?” On that you could tell it wasn’t Inuyasha. The girl seemed a bit tense that I called her by her father’s name.

“Oh. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to call you by the wrong name.” She seemed thrown off that I was talking to her.

“You didn’t answer my question and now I must add who are you?”

“Oh. Sorry again. I’m Kagome, your father and I were friends a few years back and haven’t seen him since. But at first I was really going to ask if you had change for a dollar?”

“Of course.” We switched money and after she started her load, we decided to talk.

“So what ever happened after I left to cause Yasha to settle down with someone?” Rabiti had already known of the fuedal era and warmed up after I told her my name.

“My mother was the second princess of the Eastern lands and he accidently saved her from the panther demons when they decided to attack the Eastern Lord. The Eastern Lord was weak so he asked for the Western Lord’s help in retrieving is favoured daughter. When he asked Father was in the middle of trying to convince Uncle Sesshomaru that he could help him with the kingdom. At the time all your friends had already died or went on to start a family of there own. Uncle Sesshomaru made a deal that if he could save my mother he could come back to the Western lands and stay, if he wished. Later, after they got married, they had me. That was about World War II time and that caused them to wait till I was full grown to have more kids. Now I’ve got four brothers.”

“That’s sweet, how they met. Is your father still in Japan? He was adventurous when I knew him, is he still?”

“No, he lives in America now and of course he’s still adventurous. That’s why I was so shocked when you called me by his name; He hasn’t been in Japan for years. Right now, I’m staying with Uncle Sesshomaru while I finish up college. What happened with you though? What happened after you came back through the well?”

“Not much, really. I finished highschool, now I’m in college, and that’s basically why I’m here. All my uniforms are dirty and I didn’t notice till this morning.”

“That is hilarious. Same reason I’m here.”

We laughed for a while until the clothes needed switching over, we continued to talk about what had gone on in the fuedal era and me correcting some stories that Inuyasha had twisted the details in. For a while it felt as though I was talking to Sango again. Eventually it was time to go.

“So my uncle is pressing me to invite a friend to his party tonight so he doesn’t lose another business partner. Mind coming?”

“Of course not, but under two conditions, I need help finding something to wear and I need to repay my friend for recording classes for me today so can she come too.”

“I can follow you to your place after we drop this off.” She offered referring to her bucket of clothes.

“Okay.”

``-``-``-``

We dropped off her clothes and by the time we did that classes were over so I called Eri and told her about the invite to the party and she decided that this meant mall time. Asking Rabiti if she was okay with this plan, we decided to meet up at the Old Navy store. Eri was there before us, waiting to meet the wonderful person that convinced me to go to a party.

“Hey Kagome, who’s this?”

“Eri, Rabiti. Rabiti, Eri.”

Eri couldn’t stop herself. “Hey you look a lot like that bad boy boyfriend she used to have.”

“Boyfriend?” Rabiti stared at me disbelievingly.

“Sorry, but for some reason all my friends thought I was dating him.” We finished shopping quickly after we had all found an outfit for the party.

Rabiti’s outfit was a dark red, elbow length sirt and a black long skirt. Eri’s was a pink tee with a long zebra print skirt. Theirs was easy to find but when it came to mine, they kept finding something wrong with it.

“Here try this one.” Rabiti tossed me a dress that looked like a feminine version of Sesshomaru’s clothes from forever ago. But when I put it on and came out of the dressing room, the girls decided it was the one. After we checked out Rabiti looked at the time and gasped.

“Oh shit, we’re gonna be late! We’ll get dressed at Kagome’s place then go in my car, okay?” Eri and I nodded vigourously before heading for the cars we came in.

``-``-``-

At the party I couldn’t help but feel uneasy. I hadn’t been around so much youki since the fuedal era. I had seen all of the party area but had yet to see any sign of Sesshomaru.

“Kagome?” I heard an old friend’s voice call through the crowd. Koga walked up to me and Ayame was following.

“Where have you been for the past 500 or so years, girl?” Ayame seemed less agitated than she was in the fuedal era, so much so that she hugged me before Koga could.

Once they let go I explained how it was only a few years to me. They told me how they now had a pack full of little ones.

“Is everyone having kids since I left?”

Ayame looked at me with a bit of sympathy in her eyes. “Unfortunatly, but I must tell you one thing. You know that little kitsune you used to travel with? He’s finally of age to get married. Guess who he’s planning to ask?”

“Who?”

She covered Koga’s ears, “Our eldest daughter!” She squealed with delight and removed her hands from Koga’s ears. “At least someone found you before that. By the way who did find you?”

I told them about everything that had happened today and was about to ask Ayame if I could meet my soon to be daughter-in-law when a fight broke out near the bar. We all went towards it and Koga tried to stop it but that didn’t work. He just got tossed aside. When I tried one of the guys threw his drink my direction. It landed on my new favourite outfit and created a disgusting red stain down the front, and that was when I had enough to summon my reiki. I created two man sized pink cages around them so fast, I didn’t even know how they got there, but I wasn’t going to protest it. I sat on one of the barstools and turned to the bartender.

“Do you got canned soda?” He nodded. “Give me three.” He handed me the first one then set down the other two. Thinking that Sesshomaru wouldn’t forgive me if I ruin his carpet I had the decency to put little reiki carpets in the bottom of the cages. “So who wants to admit to doing this to my new favourite outfit?” I snapped open the first can and then the second before using more of my reiki to raise myself up enough to do my plan. “No one want to admit to it?” I looked to both of the men before pouring the sodas down on them. When the cans were empty I grabbed the third one and walked away to find Rabiti. “I believe that’s perfect revenge.”

You like? By the way, Rabiti is Japanese for liberty (she was born in America). Please review and let me know what you think. Sesshomaru shows up next chapter, promise!
