Cliff and Battle

This wasn’t her smartest plan by far. Sesshomaru was nowhere to be found, Inu Yasha was unconscious along with the rest of the group, minus Jaken and the kids, and here she was running for her life towards a cliff. The demon chasing her had three shards and looked something like a minotaur. Dodging another tree Kagome rushed out from the forest and onto the dusty cliff. The jarring steps of the bull behind her shook the small rocks and dust closest to the edge, off.
Taking a risk, Kagome jumped and slid feet first towards the edge watching as the bull stumbled trying to stop only to roll past her and off the edge. The loose dirt carried Kagome to the edge but not so far to where she couldn’t grab hold of the edge before plummeting the 100 odd feet to the rapid river below.
“You have got to be kidding me.” She swore trying to get purchase on the rock. “Sesshomaru, Inu Yasha, Kirara, little help please.  Someone?”
“Ku ku ku.”
Mentally swearing Kagome looked above her at the black shadow. Once her eyes adjusted, Naraku’s smiling face looked down at her.
“I shall aid you in return for those shards, little Miko.”
“I would rather die.” Kagome pulled her legs up and pushed away from the rock wall she clung to, flipping backwards and more towards the middle of the river. Focusing briefly on Naraku she threw a ball of energy at him that only reflected off of his barrier, cracking it like glass. Preparing herself to hit the water Kagome could only grin at the furious look on her enemies face.
~~~~~~1 year later.
The energy blast of red tetsigua burned the ground as it shattered it’s target’s barrier. Green lighting struck the target causing the half-demon to drop the black orb in his hand.
“You will pay for the lives you have taken.” Shippo darted forth on his paws snatching the black jewel in a prayer bag and running in a large arch back to his place by Miroku. The young kit looked roughly like a 6 year old human rather than the boy he had been a year earlier. The Monk beside him and the slayer in front of them looked much older than they were, the worry lines in their skin and the gray in their once black hair was only a few signs.
“Ku ku ku. Where is your little miko? Did you never find her after her fall off the cliff?” The hanyou took pride in taunting the group. Even Sesshomaru had taken the loss hard, but after months of looking for their friend, and no signs, it was obvious she had died.
“Die Naraku.” Inu Yasha fired off a windscar only to hit another purple barrier.  Cursing the inu hanyou tried again.
“If you are finished, I have other places to be.” A single tentacle struck out from the barrier aimed that Shippo.
“Well that’s quite rude.” Everyone in the clearing stopped. Sesshomaru’s attack cut through the stray tentacle as he moved to guard the cursed jewel. Everyone looked to the opposite end of the clearing and into the dark forest.
