It was almost creepy, how Sesshoumaru managed to look both the same as he did as himself and yet completely different whilst in human guise.
Kagome, fascinated even though she had seen it many times before, stared at her mate as he donned the charmed necklace that hid his demonic nature from unsuspecting foreigners. Working with international companies meant that he had to appear in a way that would not bring up any moral issues amongst the staff, thus, he pretended to be human- and that meant changing how he looked.
Gorgeous golden eyes dimmed into a muddy brown, silver hair went through a shocking transformation to become black, and his markings appeared to merge into his skin until they disappeared from view. Yet there was one thing that couldn't be masked entirely... His aura. It was far too large to be smothered by any charm, regardless of how tight a grip the demon kept on it. Thankfully, there were no competent reiki users within the companies he dealt with, and if there were- mouths could be kept shut fairly easily when money was stuffed into them.
Alteration over, Sesshoumaru turned to the stunned miko and kissed her deeply, before saying,
"It feels like you are cheating on me, mate."
Kagome's eyes snapped open abruptly at his words. Where the hell had that come from? She wasn't cheating, unless he... Suddenly feeling very nervous, the woman asked tentatively,
"Sesshoumaru? Why would you think that?"
His now brown eyes glinted mischevously as he pulled her closer for another mind-numbing embrace before stating as if it were blindingly obvious,
"I am in the form of another and you so readily come into my arms... It does make one wonder."
Face morphing into irritation, Kagome slapped his arm as hard as she could whilst pushing him out of the front door.
"You idiot! Don't make me worry like that! You think you're so damn funny! Now go before you're late for work, you big dummy."
The disguised inuyoukai chuckled as he walked to the parking lot and the young woman scowled after him. Gosh, he was far more trouble than he was worth.
