Chapter 1: Surprise!
Kagome raced to the well. How did she let this happen? She knew she loved Sesshomaru, but she hadn’t expected this! He had asked her for a one-time thing and she didn’t refuse. That had been about two weeks ago. Her period was late and she had been feeling nauseous in the mornings. She knew right then what was wrong with her. Now she was racing to the well before Inuyasha found out. He was her best friend, but he hated his brother, and she felt like she had betrayed him in the most horrible of ways. She reached the well and had just jumped when she felt someone grab her and put her on top of them thinking they would break her fall. She looked into Sesshomaru’s eyes as the blue light engulfed them.
Sesshomaru was sitting in his study trying to get his beast to tell him why they should go see the miko. She was not important to them. Then he remembered the night that he had let his beast have free reign over their body. ‘What did you do beast?’
‘Nothing.’
‘Beast.’ It finally relented and gave Sesshomaru access to the memories. Sesshomaru let out a growl, as he finally understood why his beast wanted to check on the miko. His beast had gone to the female and pupped her. If he wasn’t near during the pregnancy, then the pup very well could kill her. He quickly wrote a note saying that he would be back when he could. He raced to the village the miko resided in and caught her as she ran into the forest and he had grabbed her when she jumped into an old well. He turned so that she would be on top of him when they reached the bottom, but instead of the bottom, he was met with a blue light. He looked at her.
Kagome could not believe this! “Sesshomaru? What do you think you’re doing?”
He just looked at her. She was not panicked in the least. “What am I doing? How about I ask you that question?”
“I am going home.”
She was going home? He felt ground meet his back softly. He looked up and saw a ceiling. “Where are we?”
Kagome sighed. She had a lot of explaining to do. “Five hundred years in the future.” She got off of him and quickly climbed the ladder. She opened the door to the well house and she waved him out of there. “Unless you want to stay in here, I suggest you come with me. My family owns this shrine.” He followed her into the house. Her mother was at the table. “Hi, mom.”
“Hello, dear.”
“Mom, this is Sesshomaru. Is it alright if he stays here with me fore the next few months?”
“Sure, honey. May I inquire why?”
Kagome simply pointed to her stomach and pointed at Sesshomaru.
“Oh! How did that come to happen?”
“It wasn’t supposed to. I blame his beast for being so persuasive.”
Sesshomaru remembered how his beast had pleaded with her and persuaded with her just to get the poor female to agree to the whole thing. Sesshomaru heard the miko’s mother sigh. He followed Kagome up the stairs and to a bedroom.
“You may use this room while you stay here if you want. My room is right across from it if you need me.”
He shook his head. He was going to have to be extremely close to her during this time. “I shall stay with you.”
Kagome sighed. There was no point in arguing with him. “Fine.” She opened her door and stepped aside so he could go in and then she shut the door. She opened up her dresser and took out a big t-shirt and a pair of her basketball shorts and tossed them at him. She pulled out another t-shirt and a pair of shorts for herself. “You can wear those until we go shopping tomorrow. Turn around.” Kagome held out her own set for him to see that she was going to change. He turned and she changed quickly. She went over to him and undid the buckles on his armor. “All you have to do is slip the shorts on much like you would a pair of hakamas and the t-shirt you slip over your head and put your arms through the sleeves.” She turned as he changed. He growled a little to let her know he was finished and she turned around. She was tired so she fully planned on getting some rest. “You may do what you want. I am going to rest.” She walked past him and lay down. She had missed her bed. She fell asleep quickly.
