Kagome stood in the middle of the meadow, her tears invisible with the falling rain. She had had no choice. Inuyasha had tried attacking a child, so she had killed him. It may have been Sesshomaru’s pup, but that gave him no right to kill a child whose existence was not his fault. Jaken had came an hour ago and retrieved the boy. They had defeated Naraku two months ago and she had yet to make a wish on the jewel. Then Kagome knew exactly what wish she needed to make on the jewel. She heard someone enter the clearing. She turned and saw Sesshomaru. He looked between her and Inuyasha. Kagome yanked the jewel from her neck and looked at it. She took a shaky breath and raised the jewel up with both hands and encased it in her powers, which were pretty significant for a miko, and made her wish. “I wish for the Kami to do as they see fit.” A pink light emanated from the jewel and the light enveloped Kagome. She blacked out when an immense pain hit her.

Sesshomaru had to shield his eyes from the light and he looked back over when the light vanished. His eyes widened slightly. He could hear no heartbeat from the miko. She had saved his pup, and he didn’t even get the chance to thank her. Sesshomaru decided that he would bury her. It took him a few hours, but he accomplished the task. He put flowers on her grave. He decided the weather was fitting. A dark day for the death of a being so bright.
