Chapter 1: Jump

She jumped off the cliff overlooking an endless stretch of blue without a second thought.

From her perspective, it was the first radical and rational decision she has ever made in the four odd months she has spent after returning to Edo. The decision to return to the world that called to her years ago, the world she had learned to love over time and desperately longed for in the three years she spent in her time had came relatively easy. As epic and life changing as both decisions, the latter she shall know much, much sooner, had been, none had ever been easier to make.  She didn’t know what came over her. Jumping just felt right at the moment.

The seconds before her inevitable meeting with the waves that pounded mercilessly on the rocks below felt far too long. As she neared the water’s surface, she closed her eyes, preparing for an impact that never came.
