Kagome remembered how she and Sesshomaru came to be. Not long after the well was sealed shut trapping her into the past everything began to change. Miroku and Sango settled down and made a family. Kilala soon followed suite with another two tail cat. Shippo went off to study with other fox’s his age and Inuyasha. Well Inuyasha was simply Inuyasha. He was the only thing that did not change in all of this mess. She began to be trained by Keade to take over the village when she passed on. Kagome threw herself into it as if it was the only thing left in the world to do.

Inuyasha only came and spoke to her every now and then throughout the days. He would normally still be chasing after Kikyo who would come by every now and then. Kagome still was hurt that Inuyasha could not see that she was right in front of him and he no longer should go to Kikyo. After a year or so Kikyo disappeared and Inuyasha began to spend more time with her which she found odd. When he asked to mate her Kagome put her worries at ease and took the chance. Everything was going well until Sesshomaru showed up.

“Miko this is for you from this Sesshomaru” He said before handing her ninety nine roses.

“What are these for?” Kagome asked holding onto them.

“This Sesshomaru knows what the hanyou is up to and I will not stand to let you get hurt any longer. This Sesshomaru loves you Miko” He said in somewhat of a rush.

“What?” Kagome asked dumbfounded.

“I am well aware that Inuyasha does not want to mate with you like he said. He plans on taking you to a secure cave where your soul will be transferred to the dead clay women” Sesshomaru said his eyes narrowing.

“And you know this because?” Kagome asked.

“I overheard them talking about it” Sesshomaru said with a frown.

Knowing Sesshomaru as someone who wouldn’t lie, Kagome suddenly felt like crying. Was that what really was going to happen? Was Inuyasha going to do that to her? It could be possible as Inuyasha still thinks of her as Kikyo’s copy.

“Choose me Miko, if not for a lover but a protector. You must leave this place.”  He said softly.
