Once they reached the room and where left alone Kikyo corner Kagome, “All right Kagome we are alone now spill! What has you all upset all of a sudden?”

Kagome sighed, “After seeing that wedding today I realized something.”

Kikyo pulled Kagome over to the bed and they both sat down once comfortable Kikyo urged Kagome to continue.

Kagome’s eyes filled with tears, “It really does not bother me that father will not be here for the ceremonies but…”

Kikyo’s eyes widened in understanding at Kagome’s unfinished sentence, her eyes filling with tears as well, “It also means that mother will not be here for the ceremonies.”

Kagome nodded sadly, “I knew father probably would not be there when we joined ourselves to the ones of our choosing but I had always hoped that mother could be there.”

Kikyo nodded sadly, “As did I but mother cannot leave the kingdom.”

Kagome sighed sadly then laughed, “I feel like I have to be an octopus to get everything done. I never would have been able to do it without you Kikyo.”

Kikyo nodded in agreement, “Let’s go gather all of the servants and give them their assignments so that everything will be ready when the time comes.”

Still feeling down but knowing that there really was nothing they could do both girls quickly made their way to the ballroom catching the first servant they found and instructing them to gather all the servants there to get their assignments for the next few days.
