The girls had been riding their horses almost all day they took a break at lunch and had a picnic in a clearing not too far from the place. Ai sighed as she ate her lunch.

Kagome looked at her curiously, “What is wrong Ai?”

Ai sighed once more, “I have been thinking about an argument that Kazuo and I had the night we returned from defeating that man.”

Kikyo cringed at the reminder of Naraku, “What was the argument about?”

Ai huffed, “We were arguing about us going to defeat Naraku when he said something about a man always has to rescue a woman. He got quite upset when I brought to his attention that they had not had to rescue us and that the threat had been dealt with before they had even arrived.”

Kagome laughed, “Do not worry about it Ai that is just the male pride speaking. If they did not have to protect a female they would not know what to do with themselves.”

Ai giggled at that, “You are right Kagome let them think that they always have to rescue us. We know better.”

Kikyo smiled softly, “As long as we know what is what let the males keep their pride. We have each other when they push us too far.”

Kagome laughed, “That is true.”

Once lunch was done they continued to ride their horses until it was time for dinner.
