Nothing Else Matters

Peace.......Silence.........Serenity.........

It was amazing just how quiet the aftermath was. Just moments before a fierce battle raged, blood and other bodily fluids spewed all around. Fires blazed, bodies scattered, armour, weapons, screams, sweat, and tears. Now blissful quiet.

lnuyasha had rushed straight into the battle, even though the group had decided to wait till tomorrow. Why? Because Naraku kidnapped Kikyo. And so the battle raged in the night.

He dispatched Kikyo right as the fighting began. That strategic move let loose Inuyasha's demon blood and made Kagome more susceptible to Magatsuhi's attack. Sesshomaru stepped in at that point. Unfortunately that was all she could recall. Inuyasha had managed to send her flying, causing her to go crashing into nearby trees. 

Her body was numb and her mind drifted aimlessly. She cracked open her eyes but she could not move her body. There was snow falling all around her. But that was impossible, as it was spring.

Cherry blossoms.

The beautiful, fragile blossoms floated around her landing on her skin and hair. Then he floated into her vision his beauty alone overshadowed the blooms. Moonlight hair and eyes like twin suns.

She looked at him, confusion riddling her features. He simply looked back unblinking, unmoving. Then black spots began to swim before her eyes, growing larger with each second. The last thing she saw was those golden eyes with a flicker of remorse.
