-Unpleasantly Surprised-
A tingling, sharp sensation overcame him. It was numbing, almost caressing him. It seemed like time stopped, everything moving almost lethargically. He saw the flutters of leaves, dancing merrily in joint with the wind; the bristles of the branches beckoning the breeze to embrace their spinney figures. A flash of red dissipated into a turbulence of yellows and oranges behind his eyes, the pigments implied an early sunrise or early eventide.
He heard something. He strained to listen. What was it, he mused, feeling indescribably tranquilized. Another whisper; incongruous but a stifling ringing resonated in his ear. Then it became clear, a wondrously repercussion from an illustrative world.
“Sesshomaru!” This little voice called out; there was a pain around his ear. Another tug and more pain. Snapping out of an involuntary trance, a surge of intense agony ruptured from his chest; he saw an unfamiliar object protruding from the armor and silk and layers of skin.
It released him, and he staggered forward, gnashing his teeth when the pressure of his armor chafed against the wound.
A villainous chuckle warped the vicinity.
