Disclaimer: Though it saddens me to say it, I don’t own anything relating to Takahashi-sensei’s Inuyasha. However, the plot and/or ideas of this drabble series do belong to me.

A/N: Thanks for the feedback! I’m relieved you guys are enjoying the story! AND, you were all kind enough to leave your names! I hope you all had a great holiday! :) Update 1 of 2.

Chapter 12: Incandescent

Her purity was the brightest of them all.

Her light drew him in like a moth to a flame–an all-consuming heat that excited him like no other.

So glaringly human, she had been a curiosity for one such as he. Driven by emotions so powerful, he hadn’t understood how a little female had the capacity to carry the weight of life on her shoulders and yet carry on with a smile, seemingly without a care in the world.

She was fragile, but persevered with a compassionate insistence that was so very rare amongst those of her kind.

They were like two sides of the same coin; she, with her vulnerability and he, with his quiet strength. If they weren’t meant to be together, both would have never existed under the same sky.

She soothed the darkness that raged within him.

And tamed the beast that lurked just beneath the surface.
