AN- This is my attempt to return to writing, so I'm  still a little iffy on it >.

Chapter one.

   He could hardly stand  the sight of her laughing in  his brothers arms.  Eye's shining as the impudent little insect wrapped  her tightly in his embrace, only to twirl her away  seconds latter.  This day was a mockery to him! The beauty that was Kagome Higurashi solely had eyes for his bother. The indecisive,  spoiled, perpetual conniving bastered.  He had attempted to make him self know to her in a romantic sense many years prior to this day. She had only smiled  and softly rejected his perusal stating  ' I see you as only a brother.'  His eyes  darkened as he bore witness to a searing kiss, a snarl echoed deep with in his mind.

 How he hated her for rejecting him, rejecting the love he held so deeply for her.  He  came out of his brooding as the music lightened slightly, the DJ  asking  for a round of applause for the " Newly wed  Mr. and Mrs Inuyasha Takashi!"  Along with everyone else  he raised his hands, though they felt like lead, clapping with the reception party. His musings once again taking the forefront of his mind as more couples took to the dance floor.

 He knew she  had no idea about Kikyo, Inuyasha's first and only true mate.  A small smile split his lips then,  as alpha with no woman to speak of, Inuyasha had two options.  Give up his first mate  or his new one.

        The smile on his face  grew sinister.

  Oh Kikyo knew all about Kagome, she would have too if this farce of a matting was to take place.  Once they found out that Kikyo couldn’t bear young they almost lost their minds. It Wasn’t till Kikyo overheard about mated couples able to take on a second mate, that this idea came to existence.  Sadly they had to choose her.  The one female that quickened his pulse and made his bestial side go wild. He recalled the first day her encountered the enchanting creature known as Kagome.

 4 years ago-

     The autumn breeze snaked threw the town, colourful leaves danced along the sidewalk as people bustled past to much in a hurry to stop into the little coffee and book shop just off of main and hawking.  Mothers birthday was fast approaching and lately she had taken to starting a personal library, and while mind you, there wasn’t much not in her collection already this store gave me a feeling that I might find one of the few last sought after volumes in her vast and unbelievable collection.

  Upon entering the shop  the smell of mocha  caramel assaulted my nose,  my mouth watered and I found myself  heading towards the old cash register and the young girl  turned away from it, fidgeting with the coffee machines. Slightly annoyed at the less then professional greeting I huffed “Girl, is it not customary in your career choice to greet all those who enter the premises?”  She jumped startled, twirling around to face me a blush staining her cheeks. “I’m so very sorry sir!  We don’t get many people in the store at this time and I was in my own world.”  She exclaimed, bowing her head slightly regret on her features. “Hn, be that as it may you should show more diligence towards your work.”  Her features puffed up a bit, annoyance shinning in her eyes at my dismissal of her apology. Looking about ready to retort in a less then professional way, she took a deep breath and asked me I would like, and with a smirk I replied just a coffee. A large black coffee.

 Present date

    On retrospect I never did find mother a book in that store, a light chuckle left my lips.

  Kagome did not know it, but with her slight look of defiance I had been enthralled. I came back every week to see her, gradually making it twice and the three times a week.  After months of what I thought to be playful flirting I walked in to ask her for a date only to be told that I was something akin to a brother in her eyes. Her phone when off then as I was leaving the store and I heard her call a man babe. Angered I vowed to never see her again. How little did I know that her “love” would be my bastard brother.
