Valentine’s Day Countdown

Prompt: Engagement 

Kagome knew Sesshomaru was following her. She let him. Inuyasha was ranting god-knew-what while he followed. (sigh) what a relief she wasn't going to mate him. What had she been thinking? Kikyo was on the other side for him. No reason for him to be confused or Kagome to go home crying. 

Kagome opened the door and coughed--dust flying out. The door had never really been opened. She walked down the stairs. Sesshomaru hovered close to her so she didn't fall down and hurt herself---or into the well. 

"Well she DID have the Shikon in her once. Maybe if we throw her down the well it'd open." Inuyasha suggested. Kagome was sure Sesshomaru's eyes were going to turn red with rage at the assumption. She kicked him softly by his foot to not attack Inuyasha---yet. It was getting old. Sesshomaru's hand just fisted in 'He's so dead later.' 

"Do you feel that? sense it?" Kagome asked. There was a presence on the other side. Sesshomaru's arm went around her slightly---she was leaning into the well. "....I feel someone on the other side." she said thoughtfully. She said "Hello?! Kouga? is that you?" into the well. Sesshomaru pulled her back when she coughed. 

"I think we should go and..." Sesshomaru started. 

"Did you have a prior engagement? maybe? What gonna make love first?" Inuyasha said sarcastically. 

"Indeed." Sesshomaru said and locked lips with Kagome, kissing her deeply. Like a starving man/demon. It had been far too long. 

The bone-eaters well made a sound.
