The hearts a funny thing... sometimes it tells you to jump in face first. Other times it tells you to run away. Whatever it tells you to do, it always leads to your own failure.

That's what happens when you follow your heart. You end up with a broken one, you trip 1000 more times then you should have, and ultimately it will lead you to your own death.

Some nay sayers believing in love at first sight, oh and don't forget happy endings, right? Wrong.

Those foolish intuitions lead the greatest to their own downfalls.

How dare I speak blasphemy? Why am I so cold? What woman could be so narrowminded and hateful?

Me. Kagome Higurashi, age 18, shikon miko and time traveling higschooler. Who barely has a a beat left in her heart, that's who.

I've made one too many mistakes, those damned brothers were 2 of them.

Now I'm stuck alone, in a cellar that isn't made for much more then one. Cold bitter chains biting deep in to hot flesh. Each shaky breath brings another sickeningly strong whaft of rotted flesh. Fear boils deep inside the burning flesh with every flinch from the sounds of the world around. Eyes continue searching for a light beyond the captive stone door, but never seem to find what they are looking for. The stomach aches with a hunger that is not to be satisfied with simple rations.

Who's to blame for all this?

A mother who birthed this wretched soul? No. The captor which placed that deathly spirit? Not quite. The men which lead to the demise? Perhaps.

Or was is all just the womans undoing? You hit that one on the nail.

She had become her own reaper, but too unlucky to reach death.

What brought her here? Only time and pondering would tell.

With that said, the light finally reached the cold stone walls to reveal the true embodiment of her fear.
