Koi on Fire

“There was once a priestess, who as you have been reading, was able to capture a powerful demon.  She was able to lock him in a book with a powerful spell, one at the time no one had ever seen the likes of before.  Once again the world was at peace and no great thread challenged the world.  She traveled all over, helping those who she could.  She even held clout with many demons, she stayed in my father’s castle more than once, one of his many mistresses.  However, after not very long she began to experience some adverse effects, and this is when she came to my father for help.

Father cared a great deal for the priestess and she had been present and my birth, so he immediately set out to be able to help her in any way that he could.  She told him that she experience a burning sensation in her heart, as if it was being set on fire.   This perturbed my father very much, he had never heard of anything that would cause this, as he set upon helping her he watched her grow weaker every day.  The pain increased everyday and it was all the court physicians could do to keep her pain to a tolerable level.  Finally he found out what was going on, the spell she had cast was too much for her, the demon she had captured was slowly burning her heart out in an effort to regain its foothold on this realm.  She gave my father the book for safe keeping, the one that you have been reading, and then asked my father to do what he told me was the most terrible thing in his great and horrible life.  He had to burn her alive, this priestess that he carried much love for.  He listened to her scream until she finally died and then listened to an unholy roar as the demon’s entity perished along with her.”  Sesshoumaru finally took a great breath and the look he gave her nearly shattered her heart.  “Why did you have to pick up that book koi?  I fear that someone has led you to it, in an effort to take you from me.”  Sesshouamru sadly sighed.
