Tossed & Turned by Christine

A sinister fortune-teller

Oneshot # 1

“Oh come on Kagome!” Souta whined. They were currently in downtown Tokyo. Souta had insisted that they go to the festival together, some “brother and sister time”.

“Souta, fortune tellers are fake. They only do it for money... not to help people!” Kagome argued back, and pulled on his hand to go another way.

Souta stopped, pulling his hand away. “Just like demons aren’t real, huh Kagome?” Kagome narrowed her eyes. Her gut clenched and her heart felt like a brick in her chest.

“Souta,” she warned, “500 years ago they were..”

Souta pleaded with her, “Please, let’s just go… you never know.. maybe this one is real!”

"Fine, but don't get pissy with me when she's a fake."

-

Kagome stepped into the curtain first and then Souta followed after. As soon as she opened the curtain, she could feel it. The pull on her soul, telling her this woman was real.

It had been a few months since the well-sealed and since then she hadn't felt this pull. She had been waiting for this since she got back. She wanted the truth.

The woman looked up at her, widening her eyes. Her hair was gray as smoke and her eyes green as leaves.

She motioned for them to sit.

"Sit down."

Both complied.

"Who wants to go first?" She asked, looking at Kagome.

Kagome shifted, feeling nervous. She didn't feel any evil in this woman, but something felt wrong. "I'll go."

The fortune teller nodded and closed her eyes.

Kagome felt ill, physically ill. The pull was so strong as soon as the woman closed her eyes. It felt like the sinister fortune-teller was ripping her heart out of her chest.

& it suddenly stopped. Kagome opened her eyes, and saw the once green eyes were now bluish green.

"You have many people searching for you.. Good and bad. But, instead of you searching for them... You must stay put and live your life for the moment."

-

"Okay, you were right. That lady was a fake," Souta confessed, “All of your wishes will come true!" He mocked.

An: Its gonna get good, promise! :)
