Chapter One:

Sesshomaru was sitting on the couch waiting for Kagome to come home. She was late and he was getting worried. Just as he thought to pick up the phone and call her, he heard key wrattling and the door open. What he didn't expect or appreciate was the slam of the door and frustrated scream. He got up off the couch and cautiously walkied into the entry hall where Kagome was kicking off her shoes and throwing her purse.

"Kagome, love, what has happened?" He asked. Kagome glared at him for a moment but soon her gaze softened. She could never stay mad around him.  She took her hair down and shed her coat, as she walk past him to the kitchen. She needed a cup of tea to calm her frazzled nerves before she blew up. As she tried to make herself one, she felt Sesshomaru slowly guide her to her usual chair at the dining table and he took over the task of tea time. "Tell me, my mate, what has got you so upset?"

"I got laid off today from the bread factory." She said. He could hear the depressed undertone of her voice. Sesshomaru was truly suprised to hear this. The last he knew of Kagome's job she was due for a promotion soon. "Our plant was over run but a genus of mites that infest stored grains and flours. The entire plant was shut down and vacated in less than an hour. So now, here I am, jobless and seriously pissed off!" Sesshomaru sat her tea in front of her and she took a grateful sip.

"Don't worry, my love. Do not think of this in a negative way. Think of this as an opportunity."

"Opportunity to do what exactly?" She was in no mood for her husbands cryptic talk.

"An opportunity to go for what you truly desire." He paused when she looked up at him confused. "Perhaps..." He knelt infront of her and took on of her hands. "This is a sign from the kami that we should try to start a family. I  make more than enought money for you to be a stay at home mother for a time, if you wish." Kagome's heart pounded in her chest and a smile broke out on her face. She attacked him with fervent kisses.

"Ok," She said, twisting her fingers in his hair. "Let's start right away!" Sesshomaru kissed her back as he picked her up bridal style and moved them to a more suitable location.

They had always wanted a family and maybe Sesshomaru was right. She should look at this as the opportunity they needed to achieve what they desired most.
