It was a normal day at Sweet Temptations. People filtered in, bought their treats, and left with smiles on their faces. Making people feel good was part of the reason Kagome had taken the job. That and the pay was good. Even her boss was tolerable...most of the time. Today was not 'most of the time.' Sesshoumaru had come in that morning in a foul mood. He was frigid, curt with customers, and had nearly made her cry earlier in the day. She'd only dropped a box of candy wrappers! It wasn't like it was a big deal!

Waving at a little girl leaving the shop Kagome side eyed her youkai counterpart. The tall male was helping a woman with a small toddler get a box of peanut brittle from the top shelf. Ominously, the stool he was on creeked. For over a week she had been telling him they needed a new one! But he kept insisting it was fine, until now. Promptly the left leg broke, sending brittle toppling and Sesshoumaru to the ground.

Some how he made an awkward moment look graceful, landing smoothly on his feet. But the brittle couldn't be saved. It lay scattered all over the floor, the box smashed and dented on one corner. Cringing, Kagome waited for her already touchy boss to blow a gasket. It looked imminent, his expression having turned into one of irritation. Then: "You dwapped yawr nuts!" From the mouth of babes the truth shall spring.

At the womans side the toddler had spoken up. He was pointing at the usually stoic male and gasping in over excitement. Said youkai's expression was priceless, caught between bemusement and irritation. And in the background Kagome lost it, unable to help herself as she laughed at the adorable scene.
