The moment I felt his lips on mine, my brain stopped working and all I could do was stand there like a statue. When he pulled away, I remained frozen in place with eyes wide open. He leaned closer after a while, scrutinizing me with intense golden eyes and frowning down at me as if in confusion.

I closed my eyes, trying to find my scattered wits, and trying to summon the huge amount of anger I know I should feel.

"You submitted," he whispered, almost in awe.

I opened my eyes to glare at him. I wanted to tell him to go rot in hell for taking away my first kiss. I wanted to smack him over and again for taking something from me without apology just like everyone else.

He is just like everyone else, always trying to take everything from me until I am reduced to nothing but a mindless puppet.

Anger, which I know I should feel, came in full force but I still managed to sweetly smile at him, not allowing myself to show how much his kiss affected me in ways I did not understand. "No, I did not submit. You did."

He raised a brow in surprise. "I did?"

"You just kissed a lowly hanyou, Great lord," I replied, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "And what a bad kisser you are. Tsk. You just showed me how bad you might be in bed."

He narrowed his eyes on me while I pushed away from the tree he pressed me on. I made a big show of wiping my lips without looking away from his gaze. Afterwards, I shoot him a smirk then a deadly glare before starting to walk away.

"Do not issue a challenge you could not win, hanyou." His voice almost made me want to turn around, murder him, and bury him where he currently stood but I held myself back.

Without glancing at him, I replied. "I never issued a challenge."

"You just did," he replied, walking after me and closing the distance between us again. He stood just a breath away behind me that I could feel the heat of his body. "You do not know what happens on my bed, hanyou. I assure you, when you get there, you would be begging me for more."

I bit back a growl. What an arrogant bastard. Always looking for a way to torment me. "I doubt that. But I'm not interested in finding out and I'll never be yours in any way."

He walked in front of me, making sure that I held his gaze. I stood my ground, my eyes just as challenging as his. He smirked and the act caused him to look even more lethal and predatory and so damn handsome. "Hnn. We'll see."

With that, he turned into a light sphere and flew away.

I glared after him before screaming in frustration. "You'll never have me in any way, arrogant bastard!"

Then I stomped away from the forest to take Sango back to the West.

I stood beside the window in my chamber, remembering the soft lips of the hanyou I kissed just moments before. It had not been my intention to kiss her, it was done purely out of instinct. I had the impulse to subdue her and mark her in some way so she would know…know what? I had no idea what I truly wanted, which frustrated me more than anything does.

It had been a while since I felt interested with someone who I did not intend to kill. Well, I used to want to kill her but things changed. Quite scary to think of such change and the origin of it but I was not in the mood to delve deeper into my thoughts.

And even if I wanted to pursue her, her heritage will pose a problem.

No, it won't be a problem. You've seen how she fought, she is a lady warrior. The beast inside me argued, completely taken by the hanyou.

I sighed, irritated by the lack of control I showed and apparently still showing by my line of thought. I should not be giving her a space in my mind. There are twenty-four high-born and full-fledged demonesses just waiting for me to take notice so a hanyou had no right to occupy my mind.

A knock rapped the door moments before the entrance of my father. He did not even wait for permission to enter. Hnn. He is as arrogant as I am, only in a different way.

"Sesshomaru. The Festivity is drawing near. You know that it would put the demonesses to test. You need to meet them individually," he reminded without any greeting.

"When?" I asked without any greeting as well.

"At the eventide."

"Very well," I conceded. Good. This task should really keep me on the right direction, and would certainly remove any thoughts of a certain hanyou's lips in my mind.

I sat on the large bed, the room surrounded with candles and roses, and all I can think about was how to get rid of all these demonesses who had done nothing to piqué my interest.

Yura entered the room next, a hair demoness and part of my harem. She was beautiful but her beauty was not enough to win her my approval to be the Lady of the West. Although, in the end, it might be easier to choose someone I was already familiar with.

"Sesshomaru-sama," she greeted politely and as sensually as she could. She sashayed towards me, trying for seduction.

"Yura. What more can you give me that I don't already have?" I asked the question I have asked for the last twenty-one demonesses that entered my chamber.

Her gaze shot to mine in surprise and apprehension.

I continued, "The Southern ladies, Ayumi, Eri, and Yuka told me they would give me their life. I asked them if they would appreciate me killing them—"

"Sounds like you," she interrupted, smiling coyly.

"Do not act as if you know me completely just because you have been part of the harem."

"Perhaps, I do not know you. But I know how to pleasure you, my lord."

"Hnn. Many could give me pleasure. I could take my pleasure from anyone, so do not display such arrogance in front of me." I sneered.

"My power. It is still useful to you." She replied, still smiling.

"Hnn. But it would not always be." I agreed. "Go." I waved my hand, dismissing her.

I drank a saké, two more demonesses, and tonight will be over. Still, I wonder why I hadn't seen the hanyou's mistress yet. What was her name again? Lady Sango?

Another demoness entered, she had ruby eyes and dark hair and I immediately recognized her.

Lady Kagura.

She blinked her big, red eyes at me while her red lips formed a coy smile. She bowed before me, her aura surprisingly strong for someone of her origin.

She was a wind demoness taken as part of the Northern House of the Dragons. The Lord of the North adopted her and treated her as a daughter, even giving her the stature of a princess.

"Tell me, what more can you give me that I don't already have?" I asked, slightly leaning back on the bed where I sat.

"Alliance." Her ruby eyes flared with triumph at that one word she uttered.

Keeping my face neutral, I recognized the importance of this demoness for the West and the many advantages she could bring to me.

"What made you think that I wanted your alliance?" I inquired, implying that I could cast her off any time. The Chosen Ones should not feel like the West was desperate for any of them.

"You would not have sent an invitation for me to take part in this competition if you do not want our alliance, my lord."

"The West is strong on its own."

"But it will be stronger with us on its side."

"Hnn."

She stared at me, trying to comprehend what was on my mind. I stared back, not giving her a clue on how important this conversation was for the West, especially when many youkai clans in our northern border were all fighting for the Northern dragons.

"And what would your alliance entail?"

"That can be negotiated," she replied with a smirk before slowly walking toward the foot of the bed.

Biting her lower lip, she climbed on the bed, trying for seduction like Yura and many others that came before her. What she did not know was when she bit her lip, I was thinking of another set of lips. Images of soft, plump, and pink lips triggered a strong reaction within me that never happened for so long—the hanyou's lips.

I let an arrogant smirk play on my lips before yanking Kagura's face closer to mine. "Go," I ordered harshly. "Negotiation will not happen tonight. So, leave."

Kagura smiled before straightening and hopping down the bed. "I am taking my leave, my lord. I was honored to have seen your face and heard your voice."

I breathe a sigh of relief. Her stature is her only redeeming quality.

I closed my eyes for a second, reminding myself that only one demoness was left and it should be Lady Sango. She was the demoness whom the hanyou served. I wondered if she had recovered from her illness earlier. After all, she lost consciousness and the hanyou took her to the Middle Lands.

Hnn. I wonder how the hanyou is doing…

The door cracked open slightly, I did not look up to look, instead, my eyes remained fixed on the ground. A pair of black shoes walked inside the door. The same pair slowly made their way near the bed where I sat for the last several hours.

My mind was flashing with memories of the hanyou's lips. Should I ask this demoness if the hanyou is doing well?

In the moment of my distraction, I heard a gasp followed by a loud curse.

My head quickly turned upwards to the woman before me whom I thought should be Sango, instead, in front of me was the hanyou.

"What the hell?" She muttered in violent surprise.

I blinked at her, my eyes widening fractionally.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, pointing at me with her finger, shock and accusation filling her sapphire eyes.

"I am the one who should be asking that to you, hanyou." I replied, not understanding her presence.

"Ar-are you the L—lord of the West, S—sesshomaru?" she asked, stuttering in her disbelief.

"Hnn." I straightened and slowly descended from the bed to walk closer to her. She followed my movements intently. "Explain." I demanded.

"Explain what?"

"This."

"This what? Can't you speak more than one word?"

"Do not try my patience tonight, hanyou." I warned as I close the distance between us.

She huffed, crossing her arms below her chest, assuming a defiant stance. "I am confused as much as you are right now."

"Where is Lady Sango? She is the one whom I should meet."

Her defiance lessened, sheepishness replaced it instead, and a bite of fear made her took a deep breath. "Actually…" She waved her hands in front of her, trying to find the words.

"Explain. Now." I growled, losing patience.

She jumped slightly, looking vulnerable with that delicate kimono gown she wore and the delicate curls of her ebony hair floating down her neck sensually.

She looked…beautiful. Beautiful enough to become worthy of a princess stature.

She swallowed loudly.

I narrowed my eyes at her.

She ducked her head and whispered. "She is not the Lady…"

I frowned, waiting for further explanation.

"…I am." She finished, shifting from foot to foot.

After a moment, everything clicked in place and I realized that we have played a game of hide-and-seek for a long while now.

I growled and this time, I acted on pure instinct and slammed her on the wall.

"You…are one of the Chosen Demonesses." I snarled, our bodies smashed together, my weight restraining her thrashing body.

"What do you think you're doing? Let me go at once." She screamed, her scent laced with panic, and…something else that I could not place. Her hands pushed against my chest.

I took both of her hands and pulled it above her head. We were back to the same position in the Middle Land's forest. "How could a hanyou enter such high statured event in my lands?"

She glared at me, all the sheepishness and vulnerability in her eyes were gone. "Do not judge me for being a hanyou. You do not know who I am. You do not even know my name," she hissed angrily.

"Xiao…that isn't your name, certainly. Tell me your name since you knew mine."

"What if I don't want to?" She challenged.

"You have played with me long enough. Tell me." My hand tightening the hold on her restrained hands.

"I never played with you. You lied as much as I did." She argued.

"Are you questioning my honor, hanyou?" It was my turn to challenge her.

"You questioned mine. It is only fair that I questioned yours." She answered back, still defiant, and not begging for mercy.

"Hnn." I scoffed. "Tell your name and I might let your lies go."

She hesitated but continued, "Tell me why you kissed me and I might tell you my name."

"You have no right to negotiate." I replied because answers are not in my capacity to give.

"Of course, I have. I may be a hanyou but I am still a lady, a princess and you are very disrespectful to me, my lord." She answered firmly, hatred lacing her words and filling her eyes.

I stilled for a while before a small smile grazed my lips. Very challenging, indeed. "Then tell me, my lady, what more can you give me that I do not already have?"

"I will give you nothing," she spat, heaving in utter loathing and her eyes were burning in anger.

A soft chuckle escaped my lips before I could stop it and I backed away. Once I was back on the bed, she dashed away, slamming the door close.

Perhaps she thought I would let her get away easily. What she did not know was that I plan to take everything. "You will give me everything, hanyou. Everything."
