Once Bitten

The nightclub was lively, the evening venue was muffled but still with enough base to reverberate in the block around it.  Music from the several separate clubs built into the single warehouse seemed out to contest each other for whom could play the loudest music.  There was a line half way around the block, and a bouncer for each of the doors that lead to the different clubs of the Kaleidoscope Warehouse – the hottest spot in town.

She’d only been there twice before, once to go to the karaoke night with the girls when she’d filled out an application on Yuka’s suggestion.   There were suppose to be a dozen clubs inside all with different themes, sadly the one that wanted to hire her was the one that she least could see herself working in.

Obscurity was the name of it, a Goth club that was at one edge of the building and designed to look a little like you were walking through a graveyard.  The backs of chairs and stools looked like gravestones; there were small booths in the walls where you could sit away from the main dance floor and crowd that had entrances like mausoleums.  They were surprisingly quiet compared to the clamor everywhere else.  On the inside of them there were double sided windows in a stained glass style similar to church windows.  They allowed you to look out of the booths but not for people to look into them. The seats were a deep scarlet color and velvet, though during her walkthrough (her second visit) she’d noticed many of them had stains; expected of a place that served so much alcohol.  She was actually surprised at how clean it was, the wood was a deep chocolate color along the bar and the tables and it didn’t have lots of writing or chipped areas.  The walls were painted black, and along them hung things like ankh’s, crosses, pentagrams, other religious symbols.  If it wasn’t those then it was paintings that were in theme or posters of movies like the crow or vampire films.  It all seemed fairly cheesy during the day, but she’d been told they use dry ice to create a fog effect on the floor when the club had customers and they only used basic lighting and that for the past two years they’d been labeled in the top ten for the gothic venue of club in several magazines.

Kagome could handle all of that, and even deal with the variety of people she was likely to see there.  She thought a lot of the styles were pretty in their own way, but the costume they wanted her to use was her largest problem.  They’d fitted her when she first came in to deal with the paperwork and they had delivered three uniforms to her home this afternoon.  Thank goodness Souta was staying the night with a friend that weekend while she worked, she wasn’t sure she could walk in front of him wearing it.

The young woman looked at herself in the rearview mirror with a skeptical expression, uncertain what she was doing here.  Certainly she’d needed a job, but she’d only filled out the application with the rest of her friends one night as a long shot.  She hadn’t expected the call a few days ago of them offering her a job.

Lace stockings went up to her thighs, a skirt that barely was long enough to cover her ass with the same lace over a royal purple colored fabric.  A corset top with a matching theme of coloring that pushed up and out her breasts while it helped further define her hourglass figure.  She was already thin but it made her even more so.  There was a name tag on the left breast that just read ‘K’ and had fangs around it instead of quotations.  Arm warmers with the same royal purple ribbons went to just above her elbows, similar ribbons were in the double pig tailed style they had put her in, and Mary Janes on her feet finished out the ensemble she’d been given for her job.  They’d shown her how to do her make up and she looked like a pale sickly version of her normal self with violet eye shadow and black lips.  The whole thing made her look like a creepy scantily clad porcelain doll.

She pulled her coat tighter around her and got out of her car.  She had to take the elevator down to the ground floor from the roof of the parking garage the group of business’ owned.  All the parking for workers was on the top floor.  It wasn’t quite as clean as inside though, spray paint covered most surfaces with colorful language and references to body parts and what the writers were telling people would do to those parts.  She rushed though to get to the elevator and took the uncomfortable ride down as a pair of men that got in on another floor were looking over her legs, most of them weren’t covered by her coat.  Instead of staring at the variety of people in the line she moved right up to show her nametag to the bouncer and slipped swiftly inside.

She didn’t want to be late her first day because of her nervousness regarding her skimpy attire.  She hung her coat in the locker she’d been given and put her purse inside as well before taking a deep breath to steady herself and shutting it.

“You clean up pretty good.” Numi commented.  She was the woman that had helped Kagome with getting started and she was wearing a similar outfit, but she was in a deep crimson instead of a purple under the lace.  The colors designated rank for the women that worked there.  Numi was the acting manager after the last quit, she didn’t want the full time position forever but was filling it until they found someone new.  She knew what to do intimately but had a habit of talking a little too much for Kagome’s tastes. “We’ll have to get you some earrings and necklaces though; maybe some chokers but not all the girls like them.  For now you’ll have to go bare.  Try to pick up some things tomorrow before you come on shift again if you can.”

“I’ll try.” Kagome replied with a nod to her boss,  not adding what she was thinking.  “I don’t think adding jewelry would make me feel any less bare.”

A few hours later she was on her break eating a candy bar and drinking some coke to keep her energy up.  She wasn’t sure if she could keep up with this job and definitely wasn’t looking forward to the rest of the night, more or less tomorrow.  She’d heard more pick up lines than the rest of her life combined and almost none of them were good, thankfully people couldn’t really have long conversations on the dance floor, but the booths were where she got the most attention anyway, and she had to climb partly inside to take orders.  She’d been felt up several times and she had lost count an hour ago how many times people had pinched her ass.

Still, if she didn’t keep some sort of income she wouldn’t be able to keep custody of her brother or the shrine and house.  Ever since her mother and grandfather died in an accident the beginning of her senior year she was the only one left to take care of Souta.  A few years later and the money from the life insurance was nearly gone after burial services and catching up with bills her family had been struggling with since before the tragedy.  If she didn’t get some sort of income she’d loose her little brother and her house as well.  Thankfully she’d be able to go to college part time thanks to her mom having set up a college fund for her but the one for Souta was another bill that she wouldn’t be able to afford soon.  No matter how much the job bothered her, the thought of losing the only family she had left allowed her to suffer through the insulting gestures.

Coming off of break though she had a little time to fortify herself with chocolate for the rest of her shift, sadly even though it was going on midnight things didn’t look as if they would slow down soon and she knew the place didn’t close until two-thirty.  She started her rounds, having noticed a hand sticking from the largest of the booths set above the rest of the room.  It was some V.I.P. if they were on this level; she assumed they were after a drink.  She wasn’t expecting what she saw when she poked her head past the red velvet curtain.

The woman whose arm was still dangling out past her had her head turned toward the makeshift door but her eyes were closed and there was an expression of pure ecstasy on her pale face.  The dark make up she wore was drawn in such a way to make her look more menacing judging by the way her brows were made to look like she had drawn them into a steep glare.  Even that did nothing to discourage Kagome from believing she must be on some sort of drug, her mouth was even hanging open a little and drool had started to form on one side.

There was a second man leaning over her, his face buried in her neck but it was the metallic silver glint of his hair that surprised Kagome, ninety percent of the people in the room were sporting black hair after all.  She couldn’t see his face, but he was pale as or paler than the rest, he was wearing a tight fishnet shirt that left his muscular back, shoulders, and arms very clear for people to admire.  Kagome was about to back out of the booth when a pair of golden eyes that looked like cats eyes shot up to capture her.

“His eyes aren’t glowing Kagome.  It’s just the reflection of lights from his contacts!” She tried to reassure herself, though she could feel her heart racing and she wanted to scream a little when she also realized that there were bite marks on the girl’s neck.  Yet, she couldn’t manage to even draw the breath to do that, instead just gaping at the scene like some stupid extra in a movie that was about to get killed.

“Come in, sit down, and be silent.” It wasn’t an invitation, it was a command.  The deep baritone that came from the strange but handsome man made her whole body tighten, as though there was no question.  She sat herself down on the other side of the table from where the two were.  The woman with the bite marks, which were fading slowly as Kagome watched…muttered something completely incoherent and didn’t even seem to see Kagome, instead looking at the silver haired man with glazed eyes.

The man returned his attention to her.

Kagome took in a deep breath, realizing for the first time that she really hadn’t been able to breathe when he was watching her like that.  She put a hand to her chest and was quietly trying to deal with what she’d just seen, she wanted to run, to scream, but her body would do neither of those things.  It was as enchanted as the poor woman.

“Wake up Kagome.” She thought to herself avidly as he sent the other girl away after having her clean her neck off.  “This is just some stress dream, you’ll wake up and find out your shift isn’t until later tonight.  It’s all fine, nothing is wrong…”

Her thoughts stopped as his eyes returned to her, and she found she had to concentrate to breathe.  Yet for as incredibly frightened as she was, she couldn’t help but also think the impossible creature across the table from her was handsome.  His face was defined and regal, almost the way she’d picture an elf.  He didn’t have the same make up many of the other men wore, though he was certainly paler than them without it.  He did have black polish on his nails like most of the attendees and he seemed content just to watch her.

Though eye fucking her would have been a closer phrase, and even that didn’t cover it.  He looked at her like he desired to hold her down and devour her.  She’d never understood how some people could fathom a terrifying situation being arousing but that was instantly clear as she sat quietly staring at the unexpected gothic Adonis sitting across from her.

“What’s your name?” It seemed such a bizarre question to the situation that Kagome only furrowed her brow at him.  The silence went on for a while before she realized she was staring and looked down at her lap.  There wasn’t enough willpower in the world to keep away the blush that was creeping down her neck and into her shoulders.

“Kagome.” She mumbled so meekly she doubted anyone could have heard it over the music outside even if the booths were quieter.

“The new waitress, you weren’t told to leave this booth alone unless specifically called on?” He sounded bored, and had taken to looking at the dance floor below through one of the painted windows.

“I…don’t know.” Kagome’s whole week seemed like a blur suddenly and unimportant.  She managed to look back up with him when she realized he wasn’t staring at her anymore. “Maybe, I saw a hand sticking out from the curtain and I thought someone would want a drink…”

“Oh?” A small smile perked his lips for a brief moment, and even without turning his head he still captured her with his glance.  “Yes, I do enjoy a drink…and you do smell particularly delectable.”

“I didn’t mean…Um…I didn’t want to insult you…I just uh…” Kagome found herself swallowing as she stuttered, he’d motioned her closer and she was slowly inching around the booth toward him though she wanted her body to stay still.  “I thought that I was working and if someone stuck their hand out they were waving down a waitress.”

“An innocent enough mistake,” His tone didn’t match his words, he was mocking her, it was light and difficult to make out under the superiority but it was there.

“Yes, um, just a mistake.  No need to keep me here, if you want to dock my pay then feel free, I uh, don’t want to keep you from your ah…girlfriend when she gets back.” Kagome was clinging to hope, she’d finished scooting along the booth and was sitting right next to him on the side opposite that where the girl she’d just mentioned had been.

“I think you know no one is coming back in here.” He settled a hand on her knee with more of a delicate touch than she had expected.  She tensed and wanted to move away, but still her body refused to move, to give voice to her protests.  “Relax Kagome; nothing bad is going to happen to you.”

“Define bad,” Kagome had said it reflexively, though her muscles did calm and she felt herself lean back instead of the way she’d been sitting on the edge of the seat.  His fingers had started to trail up her leg and she felt a pressure in her abdomen that made her swallow.

“Clever.” Was the only answer he offered, obviously he didn’t intend to answer her with words however, he’d leaned closer and pulled her to where her back was against him.  His lips brushed her shoulder and she closed her eyes, though she doubted her face was anything like that of the woman she’d walked in on.

The piercing of a bite that she expected didn’t come, instead she caught up to the fact that his trailing hand was on the inside of her thigh and his lips had drawn away after the single kiss.  She wanted to stop him, but at the same time, the attention was incredibly addictive.  He’d wanted to devour her and he was reaching out to take her, and it made her feel attractive on a primal level she never had before.  Now that she’d gotten past the initial fear of being bitten she realized the man was seducing her from the moment he’d first laid those eyes on her.

His freehand instead had slipped behind her and untied the ribbon holding the back of the corset together, just enough that he could pull it down and capture one of her breasts in his hand, fondling her there as his fingers slipped around her already damp panties and inside of her.

She let out a small squeak, it had started as a protest but it devolved into just that.  The hand between her legs edged them further apart for easier access and she spread them for him.

“Like that…no need to struggle against delight…” His whisper was heated, his own breath teasing her neck as his nose traced her ear.  His fingers were moving with a delightedly agonizing languidness as his thumb traced around her clit.  “…good girl…now then…you’ll listen won’t you?”

“Mmmmmfrrrrr.” It was as close a reply to a yes as she could muster.  She wasn’t sure what it was she was agreeing to but she didn’t particularly care either.  She didn’t really make out much of what he whispered after that, her mind was much more focused on the sensations he was giving her.

There was a pressure building unlike any other time she’d had sex or done sexual things with her ex.  Usually she got a little bothered and hot and it was over, or at least that’s how it had always been, this time she shuddered and had to wonder again if this was all some strange but wonderful dream.  It frightened her a little.  He had kissed her ear when he finished murmuring and she squirmed slightly, it was a little too much at once.

“None of that…” Even as a whisper it came off as an order, and her body complied again, remaining still as he continued to press into her in the same maddening slow manner.  He was pushing into her more deeply as he continued and she felt more an more of her conscious mind surrender.

Kagome could feel herself sweating, hear herself breathing heavily and moaning lightly as the pressure continued to build, her fingers dug into the sheets and she trembled, wanting to do so much more than just sit there and yet reveling as he started to trail lips along her ear and neck.  A final strangled gasp and she finally felt the pierce of fangs she’d first expected, but the rush of ecstasy from her orgasm neatly covered any pain and the bite after that moment only seemed to heighten the pleasure.

Her face had ended up looking just like that of the woman that had been here before her.
