OOOOOO
“Miko, are you crying?”
“Well, I don't know,” Kagome spit back, her hands on her burning eyes, tears streaking down her cheeks, “you did kind of send you freakin' youkai poison into my eyes!”
The pair stood in the clearing they had been training in, the trees there starting to lose their leaves as autumn approached.
Sesshomaru scowled at the priestess, his pride still not restored from the “duct tape” incident. Now she was blaming her inability to block attacks on him? “Next time, I'll be sure to poison that wickedly annoying mouth of yours.”
“Y-you're kidding, right, Sesshomaru?” Kagome stuttered, her jaw already having dropped from the comment and then slammed back into her teeth in shock. Still blinded, her eyes fluttered uneasily behind her lids.
“No,” he told her, coming to her side. “Let me see, Miko.”
“No!” Kagome screeched, pulling the injured area of her body away from the powerful demon in front of her. “You already broke my bow and permanently scarred me with the duck incident! I don't need another worry to add to that growing list!”
“Miko, stop being so stubborn. Remove your eyes from you face at once,” the demon lord demanded, coming closer and resting his claws on her arms. She shivered and moved away, hating the creepiness of the situation.
“St-stay away from me! I mean it!” she warned weakly, her back hitting a tree.
“You are being ridiculous,” Sesshomaru growled. “There is no way you will be able to fight Naraku half blind.”
“Well I wouldn't be blind if it wasn't for you,” she hastily pointed out, sitting down with a prolonged sigh.
Sesshomaru approached her slowly, not wanting her to go and try to cover her whole face with her hands. He gently pried her hands away and looked into her eyes. How had he not noticed they were so blue before, the tears streaking down her cheeks making her appear to be more of a helpless child than she really was.
His inner demon cackled. What's wrong, Sesshomaru? I thought you could do and get through anything?
What has this Sesshomaru not gotten through? He questioned, actually wanting to know.
Well, you haven't moved for five minutes, the beast pointed out, staring away to the side when Sesshomaru conjured him.
Startled, Sesshomaru saw that he was right. Immediately, the demon lord dropped the girl, turning away. Kagome whimpered, sitting up and glancing at her teacher's back. “Sesshomaru-sama?”
One day, the beast promised. One day.
Quiet your mouth. I will have nothing to do with that despicable creature, Sesshomaru scoffed.
A lot of mouth talk, hm? Remember our earlier mouth conversation? The inner demon tempted, laughing slightly. He leaned froward from where he rested above his host...in his mind. The mind tree was where they met. There was nothing truly special about it.
Sesshomaru growled at the torment. This Sesshomaru needs no such reminder.
