Chapter 125: Insecurity

“What’s this supposed to do again?”

Sesshoumaru sighed. “This one’s poison will counteract against theirs, thus eliminating the spell.”

“So then… I’m not going to die?” Sapphire eyes twinkled teasingly.

The inu-youkai deadpanned, finding no humor in her joke. He bit the nape of her neck as a reprimand.

“Little moron,” he scolded. “I would not nurse you back to health only to kill you.”

Kagome’s merry expression turned somber. “Promise?”

“One does not harm the people under one’s protection,” he answered carefully, gauging her suddenly melancholy mood.

“I trust you, Sesshoumaru-sama.”
