Shirtless Dad

Disclaimer: I Do Not Own Inuyasha,

Kagome sighed as she looked up at the moon. She pulled her blue woolen cap over her ears and started to walk again. She’s been walking around the town’s square for hours, thinking. Her mother and brother were back at the house probably waiting for her to return, worried. But she couldn’t find it in her to return. This time of year was the hardest to be home. It was around this time her father left her and her family to join the Kamis, black ice helping him to get there. She sighed again and kicked at the snow on the sidewalk.

She was only 5 when it happened, she remembered her grandpa came to the house and hugged her and her brother so tight she had to beg to breathe. Then her mother, she came in eyes red and puffy from crying. Then she told them; ‘He’s gone’. Kagome didn’t have to ask who she was talking about to know. She started to cry and begged her mom to tell her it was lie. But-

“Miss?” a soft voiced bringing her out of her musings. Kagome stopped and looked at the voice. It was a young man with long black hair pulled into a ponytail and bright blue eyes much like hers; she could tell he was an ookami youkai. He was standing right in front of her, looking down at her. She took a step back, silently yelling at her for not noticing the person she clearly was about to walk into.

“Yes?” she asked raising her left eyebrow. The guy titled his eyes slightly.

“Are you alright?” he asked her. Kagome locked gazes with him and nodded.

“Y-Yeah just thinking” she said a blush rising to her cheeks. The guy chuckled and stepped towards her. Kagome titled her head much like the man did earlier. He put his arm around her shoulder turning her back towards the way she was walking from.

“You look cold” he murmured. Kagome's blush grew to her neck; leave it to her to be picked up by a demon when she could be in her warm bed. She allowed him to lead her to a black Mercedes park in front of a café shop. The guy opened the door for her and waited for her to get in. Kagome stopped and looked at him.

“You’re crazy” she stated. The guy titled his head, his blue eyes never leaving hers.

“How?” he asked. Kagome folded her arms.

“You think I’m going to get to a car with a stranger? I don’t even know your name” she said. The guy grinned.

“I’m Kouga” he said and with that he pushed her into the car and shut the door. Kagome gasped and watched as he walked around to the drivers’ side and slid in.

“What are you doing?” she asked. He turned the car on and turned the heat up high. She sighed as she started to feel her nose again. Kouga looked at her and smiled.

“Where do you live?” he asked. Kagome gave him a looked.

“How do I know you’re not going to stalk me after you drop me off?” she asked. Kouga chuckled and shook his head. This miko was clearly over thinking things. He just wanted to help her, but if she wasn’t going to tell him where she lived he would just take her home. With that he back out of the parking spot and started down the street. Kagome looked around and realized they were going away from her house.

“Um, my-my house is the other way” she said. Kouga sighed, and pulled into a gas station and fixed his blue orbs on hers. He then realized how beautiful this girl really was, her perfect J-shaped nose and plump pink lips. He felt her miko powers sparking with anxiety; did she really think he was going to kidnap her?

“Do you want me to take you home?” he asked. Kagome looked at him then.

“No-I mean-hrm” she said and looked away. She didn’t feel like being at home around this time. Her mom and grandpa always put up a big show on being happy, making her feel sick. Kouga smirked.

“Trouble at home?” he asked. Kagome looked at him and shook her head softly.

“No” she said. Kouga nodded at her. Kagome sighed and played with her hands in her lap.

“Do you want me to take you home?” he asked. Kagome shook her head, Kouga nodded and started down the road again.

Kagome looked out the window as the sights passed by. Why was she letting this man- no demon- take her Kami knows where? Sure her home right know wasn’t slightly annoying but was it worth risking be maybe eaten by a demon. Granted she was a very powerful miko and could take him out before he blinked but….? She sighed and leaned the window feeling the coldest from outside on her cheek. She casted her eyes upward and sighed again.

Dad. I miss you so much. Why did you have to die? She sighed again, and blinked. That had to be the tenth time she sighed since she was in this car. She knew blaming her father’s death on him was futile. That won’t bring him back, it didn’t even help. She knew she had to just accept that the Kamis needed to take her father from her for some unknown reason. She looked over at the wolf demon driving the car then back out the window again. She silently sighed and prayed that this guy wouldn’t try anything with her; she really wished to see her family again.

Kouga had stopped the car and looked over the miko, he watched with amusement as she let out another sigh. He had arrived at his friends’ house and was waiting for her to notice that they had stopped a little over 10 minutes ago.

“Hey” he said softly not wanting to scare her. Kagome turned her head to him. “We stopped around 15 minutes ago” he said. Kagome's eyes widen and she looked out the window. They were sitting in front of large stone steps that connected to a…….castle. Kouga chuckled at her expression and got out the car, the cold not really affecting him. He walked over to her side and pulled her out. When she was out of the car and standing in front of the house she couldn’t help the look of awe on her face. It wasn’t a castle but it was damn near close to it. As she stood there looking around her, Kouga went to his trunk to get his things and walked back over to her. A slight breeze came through and Kagome shivered, Kouga put his arms around her and walked towards the front door. Before he knocked a maid opened the door and bowed as they walked in. They walked into a grand foyer with dimmed lights and classical music playing.

“Hey! Yo! Inuyasha! Sesshomaru! Get down here!” he yelled. Kagome looked at him in surprise. The Inuyasha and Sesshomaru Tashio? They were well known around Japan and they’re father, the extraordinaire businessman. He owned many businesses around the world. Kouga smiled down at her and she smiled up at him.

Kagome watched as two people walked down two different spiral stairs to join her and Kouga at the bottom. One was clearly a hanyou, Inuyasha, and the other a full youkai, Sesshomaru. Inuyasha looked at the girl in his best friend’s arm. She had a blue cap pulled over her ears, hiding her hair. Dark blue jeans cuffed at the end and a red pea coat on.

“Who is she?” he asked. Kagome blinked. Was she not standing there? He had to see her to ask she was.

“You could ask me, I am standing here” she said locking her blue orbs with his golden orbs. He almost flinched at how intense they were.

“Fine, who are you?” he asked. Kagome smiled small and folded her arms. The movement gave the boys a whiff of her scent: lemon and pomegranate. Sesshomaru sniffed and looked at her. Kouga titled his head to look at her better. Kagome dropped her arms.

“What?” she asked. They all were staring at her with weird looks on her face. Sesshomaru was the first to look away.

“Kouga why is she here?” Sesshomaru asked, his deep baritone voice washing over Kagome, reminding her of her father. She shivered and stepped closer to Kouga.

“She didn’t want to go home, so I brought her here. Do you mind? I can take her somewhere else if you want” he said.

“Nonsense” a voice said from behind the group. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru turned around the face the voice. Kagome peeked around Inuyasha and gasped. Standing there dressed in only red silk pajama pants was Inu Tashio. His arms were crossed around his toned chest. When he saw her, he smiled and winked.

“Wha-” she breathed out. His golden eyes lightened in amusement. Her aura changed to nervousness and he chuckled.

“Calm down child, I won’t harm you” he said waving his hand in the air. Kagome nodded but stood back behind Inuyasha blocking his view of her. Inu Tashio turned on his heels and motioned for them to follow.
