There was only one memory, one moment he could think of, that might show his passion, his feeling, the way he wanted her to see it. It was a moment that had been seared into his mind: the moment she left them, left him, alone in the past.

In a moment, a flicker, a spasm of light, she disappeared. Vanished. I could not think to question; time stopped, and perhaps my heart. Or was that moment suspended, endless; between she is here and she is not?

Sesshomaru spoke this thought to her. The shell of Kagome's disbelief cracked – revealed hope and fear and wonder.
