Chapter 1

They stood quiet while Kagome hold the completed jewel in her hands. They finally did it, they defeated Naraku. However, they lost Kikyou and Kohaku in the process. They fought to stay in the living realm but it seemed that Naraku didn't want to depart alone.

'What a selfish bastard.'

Kagome looked at the Shikon jewel with an unreadable expression before looking at everyone in her group. Inuyasha was off in the distance holding Kikyou's broken bow while Miroku held a mourning Sango in his arms. Trying to keep her from going insane with the loss of her little brother.

Kagome sighed when she felt herself pulse with power. She knew the jewel is going to send her back home and she hope that her friends will handle another departure. The jewel pulse in response to her thoughts making her feel sick. She didn't want to leave her friends in this state. She didn't want to leave her second home where she became a strong priestess. She was numb with the fact of not seeing the beautiful landscapes that is lost through time by mankind. She gave up gaining Inuyasha's love but she doesn't know if the one who captured her attention will live through her time. Will she see him once more?

That is why with a purse of her lips, she agreed with the people who said that fate was cruel.

Unconsciously, her legs took her between her friends. Her sapphire eyes dulled with sadness hoping that maybe her instincts were indeed wrong and she will stay with her friends longer. “Everyone...I-” But before she could finish her sentence, she was sent flying towards the sky by the jewel that hold her by it's aura. “What the hell?!” She whispered breathless before the jewel silence her by entering her body once more. Her eyes started to glow with the foreign yet familiar power entering her with such force.

“Kagome!” She heard Inuyasha yell but she couldn't respond back. Her mouth was clap shut so she wouldn't scream from horror and pain. She felt like if she was being bitten by mistress centipede all over again. She wanted to claw at her side to get the jewel out but the jewel numb her body so she wouldn't intervene. The wound that the jewel created started to glow before it disappeared with a bomb of sparks, leaving her skin flawless. Her body started to glow lightly giving her the ability to move. Her eyes return to normal and she kept staring at the sky before giving her friends her attention.

'It's time...' a soft whisper reached her ears making her almost whimper with sadness. Inuyasha was about to call her again until the look in her eyes stopped him from uttering a word. He knew something was wrong especially since Kagome was hovering a few stories above them. He then understood and looked at Kagome with frighten eyes hoping that it wasn't true. “I....I am being sent back...back to my time.” Kagome whispered confirming Inuyasha's suspicions.

“I don't understand dammit!” Inuyasha yelled; his hold on Kikyou's bow tighten slightly. “Aren't you suppose to wish on the jewel and make it disappear?!” Kagome wince and shook her head understanding Inuyasha's frustration. “The Shikon disappeared inside Lady Kagome's Stomach so the jewel may be preventing her from doing it.” Miroku murmured glaring at Inuyasha who was about to interrupt him. Kagome wince again and almost fainted from the strain she is doing to just stay longer here.

'So...this is how I'm going to depart?' Kagome grabbed her red scarf from her uniform and let it fall to her friends without much of a sound. Inuyasha quickly caught it and glance at Kagome with a hopeless expression. “Please remember me.” she whispered before she closed her eyes and let the Shikon do it's job. Her body started fading with sparks heading to the sky. ' Shikon, I am doing what you want me to do...but...you couldn’t let me see him just one more time? ' half open, her eyes glittered with unshed tears.

“K-Kagome dont leave!” Inuyasha yelled jumping towards her hoping to reach her on time. He extended his claw hand to her but he was push back by a barrier that quickly surrounded Kagome's fading form. “Inuyasha please...it's ok...we may see each other again.” Kagome said with a small smile. Inuyasha landed safely on the ground and look up at her with a sadden expression. He knew Kagome couldn't stay with them much longer and that is what he wanted to wish to the Shikon jewel but he knew when to quit. He let his shoulders slump down, giving up but gave Kagome a last smile. “We will I promise,” he said with a final tone.

Kagome's eyes widen, surprise on Inuyasha's statement and couldn't help but let out a soft laugh. “I will be waiting.” she said letting her tears flow free. She sigh once more feeling the differences of time flowing through her.

Kagome's body soon faded into fragment of light that flew towards the sky leaving the rest of her group and feudal japan behind. “Sango...let your sadness out and grieve for your brother but do not forget that he wanted you to keep on living. So keep his memory alive, my sister, and start your live once more with Miroku. I will miss you dearly and always remember me like I will always remember you. Miroku, your wind tunnel has vanish and you can start your life anew. Please keep our village protected as well as Sango who needs you more than ever. I will keep your teachings alive my brother live in peace. Inuyasha...how I will miss you most and I hope that because Naraku is gone, it does not stop you from continuing your life in peace...may you find someone who is willing to accept you in their lives and you giving that person a chance as well...may I see you soon.”

Kagome's voice whispered softly towards her feudal era family, giving them her last thoughts that in hopes they will continue their lives peacefully.

'So, you have left this time line miko,' long silver hair flew elegantly with the winds. Golden eyes look towards the sky, watching the remains of Kagome's body vanish. Lord Sesshoumaru turn his emotionless eyes towards his half-brother's group that were far distance away to sense him.

He wanted to speak with the strange miko of the future for guidance towards his ward but it seem that her time here has reached it's limit. “Hey Lord Sesshoumaru, what was those pretty lights.” Rin gushed looking at the sky excited hoping to see some traces of lights.

Said lord didn't answer the child and just turn to walk away, heading towards his half-brother's village. “Come Rin it is of no importance.” he simply stated pulling out an arrowhead that was a gift from the strange miko. 'We will meet again miko.”

Rin smiled towards the sky once more before turning to catch up to her father figure. "Please wait for me my lord!"
