Sesshomaru was relaxing against the sofa in his office when he heard his door knock. “Enter,” he called out not knowing which of the two females would be at his office this time. They’d made it a regular habit since Kagome’s surprise party to visit his office, at least once a day.

The door opened to reveal the dark haired, blue eyed beauty that came crashing into his life the moment his brother made a foolish mistake. One he was happy that his foolish brother made. If it wasn’t for his infidelity, then he wouldn’t have had Kagome now living in his house, taking care of him and Rin.

“Sesshomaru, I’d like to talk to you about something.”

“Come in.”

Kagome entered and took a seat next to Sesshomaru on the couch. “What is affecting you Kagome?”

“Well Sesshomaru, first I’d like to thank you for bringing me into your home. It has really helped me move on from Inuyasha. But I feel like I’ve taken advantage of your hospitality long enough. I’d like to search for a job and stop hoarding out in your house.”

Sesshomaru almost felt as if his heart stopped, and his face froze. Kagome seeing the look on his face stood and started to leave, thinking she interrupted something. However as soon as she stood he gripped her wrist and pulled her into his lap.

“Don’t.”

Kagome looked at him questioningly. “Don’t what?”

“Don’t leave. Stay. Stay with Rin and I. Kagome, you’ve become important to me, and I know you’ve become important to Rin. Please stay.”

Kagome sighed, she knew she’d been becoming attached to Sesshomaru, and was afraid of being hurt again but hearing what Sesshomaru was saying just collapsed against him.

“I’m afraid. I don’t want to be hurt again.”

“I swear on my honor Kagome, that I will never hurt you!”

“Then I will stay.” At that Kagome cuddled up to Sesshomaru and listened to the music his heart was making. Sitting like that listening to his soothing heartbeat, and feeling safe, Kagome fell asleep while listening to the tune her heart was making with his.
