“Kagome,” came the tiny little voice from the girl coloring next to her.

“Yes Rin?”

“When is Kagome’s birthday?”

“The correct form is your; and my birthday is tomorrow, why?”

“Ri- I was just wondering. Excuse me Kagome, I’ll be right back.”

Kagome nodded and continued reading the book she’d found in Sesshomaru’s library. It was an old history book, and Kagome just loved history. It had been one of her best subjects.

Sesshomaru looked up from his paper work when he heard a knock on his door. “Enter.”

The door opened to reveal Rin. “Sesshomaru-outo, is it possible to get Kagome-chan a cake for tomorrow?”

“Why does Kagome need a cake for tomorrow?”

“Does Rin, I mean, do I, not get a cake on my birthday? Kagome’s is tomorrow.”

Sesshomaru’s face didn’t change but he was shocked. He didn’t know that tomorrow was Kagome’s birthday. “We’ll get Kagome a cake that she’ll be proud to have. Now what would you like to get her for her birthday gift?” And for the rest of the afternoon Sesshomaru and Rin spent it shopping on the computer looking for the perfect gift that matched the woman that both were growing to care for exponentially.
