As they pulled into the driveway Kagome smiled into the backseat, seeing Rin fighting hard to stay awake. “Come on Rin- honey. Let’s go get in bed.”

“Okay Kagome-chan,” Rin said as a huge yawn escaped her. Kagome took Rin by her hand and led her to her bedroom. After helping her change and get into bed, Kagome moved to leave when she was stopped by Rin.

“Kagome-chan, can you tell me a fairy tale?”

“Of course! What one would you like to hear tonight?”

“Could you make one up?”

Kagome nodded her consent and went and sat down by Rin. “Once upon a time in a land far away there lived a wise old man. Now this man could see what no other could see, and what he saw was a beautiful young girl waiting to blossom. The poor young girl was all alone and wanted to have a family. The wise old man came to the poor girl and told her that if she followed him, he would help her find happiness. And so the young girl started following him around. As time passed the young girl grew into a beautiful young woman. One day a prince came asking for her hand. The old man asked will you love her. He said yes. The old man asked will you cherish her and make sure she will never be alone. He said yes. With that he agreed to marry her to him. Within a month, they were married and they lived happily ever after.”

“That sounds like a familiar story Kagome,” Rin said tiredly.

“I’ll have to think of something more original for next time then.”

“Okay,” Rin nodded and then promptly fell asleep.
