The only thing that could be heard was the loud mouth of Inuyasha screaming. Finally Kikyo hit him on the back of the head to make him close his mouth. Indignant he turned to Kikyo and scowled at her and she glared right back. Sesshomaru watched the thing with a detachment, but his arm was tightening on Kagome’s waist, drawing her nearer, and to keep himself from killing Inuyasha.

“Well dear that’s marvelous,” Kagome’s mother finally said. “We were actually just discussing the theme for Kikyo’s and Inuyasha’s wedding. Inuyasha was thinking a Cowboy western theme, and Kikyo’s was-, oh what was it dear?”

“Simple elegance,” Kikyo said will a chilled voice. She was looking Kagome up and down trying to comprehend how she left Inuyasha so easily, and got engaged to his brother just as easy, or even easier. She didn’t understand it. Kagome had been head-over-heels, and sure she’d found her in bed with Inuyasha, but she didn’t get it.

“I think maybe they should go with a black widow theme. It’s what Kikyo seems good at,” Kagome retorted.

“Kagome! That is enough of that attitude towards your sister and her wedding,” Ms. Higurashi cried out.

“And why should I care less? When not but a year or so ago, Inuyasha had been my boyfriend and she was sleeping with him? It matters not. I’m happier now. Sesshomaru has been a god-send. He took me in and took care of me, no matter what,” at here Kagome paused, sending an adoring smile up at Sesshomaru. “I love him.”

Sesshomaru looked down at her and saw the truth and her eyes shining with love for him. Forgetting who all was there he bent down and kissed her. When he pulled back he said, “What do you say you, Rin and I leave go get some ice cream and head home?”

“I’d like that. Come on Rin. You’ll see Uncle Inuyasha at his wedding.” Rin who’d been playing with her toys looked up and smiled and skipped along them perfectly content to be getting a new mommy in Kagome, and was blissfully unaware of the chaos going on.

Sorry for the long wait. I've been busy with my sister and her graduating from college! Here's the next one and I'll try to get another up tonight just because of the long wait.
