Making Things Right

Following the scent of rain, Kira paused outside the door to her room, her head resting against the oak doors.

“It took you long enough to realize I was here Fiore scuro. Do not tell me you have forgotten the scent of your dearest friend?” Kira closed her eyes at the sound of the familiar voice . She opened the door.

“Remy” She whispered in a broken voice, throwing herself into his arms. Storng arms closed around her, locking them into a fierce hug.

“How could I forget you Remy” She teased looking up to to his teasing green eyes. He hadn't changed at all in twelve years. 6'4, curly shoulder length red hair, and the smile that could always make her happy.

“Still wont grow your hair out.” She said.

“Still wont cut yours” He returned. They laughed, but Kira sobered first, her smile falling away.

“Raiden sent you too didn't he?” He asked stepping out of his arms.

“Yes.” Remy replied, steping back to put space between them. “But I would have come years ago if I could have.” He added when her face shut down.

“I know” Kira turned away, walking toward the open window. “I'm glad you did not, you might have tempted me to return.” She told him over his shoulder. Remy sighed and joined her at the window, on hand on her shoulder.

“I swore an oath to Raiden. Its not something I would brake lightly, but I would have if I thought you needed me. I thought it was best to stay in the north and look after your brother.” Kira nodded.

“It was, and I am grateful to you for protecting Ken in my absence. You know I saw him recently?” Remy nodded. “He said he that he hasn't been hurt under Raiden's care. Is that true? I know Raiden must hate me now.”Kira asked searching Remy's face for the truth.

“Raiden does not hate you. He's just to stubborn to admit he is wrong and beg you to return to him. But No our.. My master may be a lot of things, but he does not abuse those weaker than his, or under his care. But he has changed Kira, and not for the better. I've known your mate nearly my entire, and I have never seen him behave like this. He loses his temper over the littlest thing, he is neglecting his duties as Lord, I have been taking on more and more of his responsibilities as of late. Kira you know I understand why you left him, but I am asking you to return now.” Kira started to speak, but Remy held up his hand to stop her.

“I'm not asking you to return and be his mate, I....we need you to return and be our mistress again. Raiden has ignored his peoples need for years now and they are suffering for it. We believe that if you come back he'll come to his senses and be the master that he used to be. Everyone agrees that he was a better man, and leader when you were at his side. I think that given time Raiden will return to himself. If he knew that you were returning to the north he wouldn't want you to see it the way it is now.

We need you to pull him out of the whole he has dug for himself. There has been talk of a powerful Demon Lord traveling this way from the continent. If he challenges Raiden in his current state, I don't think he will care enough to fight for his lands. Our people will not survive under the rule of a foreign master, you know that.” Kira looked away, unable to bare Remy's pleading. The silence stretched between them until Remy thought she wouldn't answer.

“Fine” Kira whispered. “I will return” Remy sighed, a great weight lifting from his shoulders.

“You will not regret this” Remy told her, before Kissing her cheek and jumping form her window, eager to return home with the news. Kira watched him go.

“I hope your right Remy.” Kira left her room in search of Kagome and her cousin. She found them in Sesshomaru's study.

Sesshomaru looked up as Kira appeared in the door way. “What is wrong” He asked, immediately coming to his feet.

“I am going home” She told them.

~ I know there wasn't mush of Sess&Kag in this chapter, but hey........ Also its been brought to my attention that I never explained that the other members of the Inu gang will not be in this story for awhile and only Sango,Miroku and thier kids. In the 1st chapter Kagome is guarding a village but Its just a regular village not the origial one, Sorry if I wasn't clear and for any confusion. Sessy21~
