Sesshomaru wrapped his arms around Kagome's waist as one of his guards tried to pry her foot from the back of Mokomoko's neck.

TEN MINUTES EARLIER

Sesshomaru speed around the corner, his heart racing, only to freeze in his tracks.

*I should have known* He thought dryly as he took in the scene.

Kagome twisted the furred body under her hands harder and pushed more pressure behind her foot as she tried to separate Mokomoko's head from his body.

"Die, die, die" Kagome chanted as she pushed harder. Kagome jerked in surprise as two strong arms locker around her waist and pulled.

"Grrrr Let. Me. Go!" She ordered and planted her feet firmly, drawing a strangled, pained sound from Mokomoko.

"Kagome, we have talked about this. Release him now." Sesshomaru responded calmly.

Kagome gave a vicious yank to the bottom hafe of Mokomoko's body and attempted to elbow Sesshomaru in the stomach. He sighed.

"I'm sure what ever it was that he did this time was not so bad as to warrant this level of violence." He told her, giving another tug at her waist.

Kagome growled and lashed out at Sesshomaru with her free foot. Mokomoko's eye's began to roll back in his head.

NOW

"What did he do My Lady?" The guard asked giving up his attempts to pull her feet away.

"He, it........ That perverted thing, he..." Sesshomaru ground his teeth.

"Yes woman what did he do! It is evident by the amount of talking that you do, that you can form a coherent sentence." He demanded. Kagome saw red.

"He dropped down onto my head and slid into my Kimono! And don't you patronize me you... you asshat!" Kagome released her hold on Mokomoko and shoved at Sesshomaru's chest.

Taken by surprise, Sesshomaru stumbled back and tripped over his still kneeling guard. The men sat in silence until Kagome's form disappeared around a corner. The sound of laughter broke the silence, and Sesshomaru looked up. Spying Kira Sesshomaru groaned.

"I just have one question." She said smiling. "What exactly is an asshat? I have never heard the term before now and I think I quit like it." Kira doubled over with laughter as Sesshomaru glared at her.

"I am not amused woman, return to your room." He ordered through gritted teeth. Kira disappeared, her laughs linger in the air. Sesshomaru stood and glanced over at the guard.

"Kenshi, No one is to hear of this." He stated before walking back into the keep.

Sesshomaru tossed another scroll onto the floor and pushed his chair back from his desk. A servant silently entered the room.

"Clean this up." He ordered, but stopped at the door. "Please." He threw over his shoulder and shut the door softly.

 In his bedroom, Sesshomaru tied the strings to his hakama's and pulled the covers down, sliding into the bed's silken coolness.

"Asshat?" He mumbled in a puzzled tone, fluffing his pillow roughly.
