Sesshomaru was frowned at his calendar, disturbed by the little heart over the next day. Inside of the heart in Kagome’s scribble were the words ‘Anniversary’. He knew that it meant that they had been together for a whole year and the thought made strange feelings come to the top. He had never made it to the one year mark with any other woman, and truthfully he never wanted to stay with someone other than Kagome for that long. She… completed him. She was unorganized, loud, random, prone to argue, and much more. She was also happy, caring, kind, fiery, and just so much fun when his life lacked fun. He loved her so much it hurt.

“Why didn’t you tell me you had a backyard!?!”

Sesshomaru turned his head to look at the object of his musing. Her hands were on her hips and she was showing her fiery nature at the moment.

“You didn’t ask.” He said simply. Really, Sesshomaru had figured she would find it eventually.

“I have been walking a mile and a half everyday to go to the park only to find you had a backyard all along.” Her eyes narrowed. Before he could respond Kagome was at his side, blue eyes sparkling up at him. He was distracted by her beauty long enough for her hands to reach his waist. Her fingers moved and Sesshomaru’s eyes widened at the feeling he had never felt before. He couldn’t stop a laugh from coming out. His hands grabbed hers and took then away from his sides.

“Stop that.” He said with a glare. Kagome’s lips twitched into a grin.

“So the great Sesshomaru is ticklish; I would have never guessed.” A teasing light entered her eyes and her hand moved to get closer to him again.

“Stop now or you will face the consequences.” He said coldly. He loved her, sure, but he would not allow anyone to do something to humiliating as tickle him.

“What are you going to do?” She asked, her hand moving again. Sesshomaru did not answer but instead picked her up bridal style and headed out of his room.

“I warned you.” He told the wiggling woman in his arms. As he walked down the hallway Dolly joined them and started barking happily at his heals.

“Put me down Sesshomaru!” She said, laughter causing her serious tone to be ruined. Sesshomaru ignored her and pushed open the door to the backyard. Kagome’s eyes scanned the grass and landed on the pool. “You wouldn’t dare.”

Sesshomaru grinned.

“I would.”

“Put me down!” Kagome laughed again, but Sesshomaru kept getting nearer to the pool.

“Okay.” Sesshomaru dropped his armful into the water. There was a splash and a dripping wet Kagome surfaced spitting water and wiping her eyes.

“Sesshomaru! What if I couldn’t swim?!?!?” She glared up at him but she looked as threatening as a soaked cat. Dolly stood at the side of the pool and barked down at her owner.

“I would have saved you.” He said. “I’ll always save you when you need me.”

Kagome’s glare faded and was replaced by bemused happiness.

“Thanks? Now are you going to join me?”

“Let me go get my bathing suit.”
