Sesshomaru groaned from his place on the couch, insanely happy that it was a Sunday and he did not have to go to work. Dolly barked at him before jumping onto his stomach, causing another groan to come out.

“Come on Dolly, leave daddy alone.” Kagome picked the puppy up and smiled cheerfully down at her boyfriend. “Feeling better yet?” She asked, knowing she would get a glare in answer. Sesshomaru did not disappoint.

“You are a horrible influence.” He said, using all his control not to return Kagome’s smile. He had no idea why she was not on the couch moaning along with him, in fact she had continued along well after he had thrown in the towel. “And I’m not her ‘daddy’.”

Kagome held the Dalmatian up so that Dolly’s nose was almost pressed to her own.

“Don’t listen to him baby, he doesn’t mean it. Daddy is just grouchy because he can’t hold his popcorn.” The puppy gave a delighted bark and tried to lick at Kagome’s cheek. Kagome took that as agreement. Sesshomaru gave up glaring at the duo and collapsed back on the couch, closing his eyes to keep the world out.

“I think that after three bowls of it anyone would be feeling sick.” He opened one eye and looked at Kagome. “Anyone normal, that is.”

Kagome’s smile grew wider and happiness filled her eyes.

“Sesshomaru, I think that is the best complement you have ever given me.” She leaned down and put the puppy on the floor before giving Sesshomaru a kiss. Sesshomaru kissed her back but had to stop as soon as tongues came into play.

“You taste like popcorn.” He grumbled and put an arm over his eyes. Kagome laughed and said something about getting him some medicine. When her back was turned, Sesshomaru moved his arm so that he could watch her retreating back. He loved spending time with her, but inside his mind the countdown of their end ticked away. He didn’t know why he didn’t just end it now but he figured he knew. Thought it would end, he was hungry for the happiness Kagome brought him. He would savor her love to the last delicious bite.
