The headlines and blurry pictures of some kind of white, large sea beast made headlines for days in Japan.  They were all over the media in every form from the newspaper to the TV.  Speculation ran wild as to what the creature was that was spotted not far off the coastline in the dead of winter that year.

It seemed that every respectable scientist in Japan and around the world weighed in on just what the creature may well be.  The hardline, straight laced faction of the scientific world, stubbornly insisted that it was nothing more than a whale of some kind since white whales were known to exist.

Of course, the far end of the spectrum in the scientific community and conspiracy theorists took the opposite view of the subject, swearing that it was either a government experiment of some kind or a creature yet to be classified by man.

Since the beast nor any trace of it had yet to be captured clearly on film beyond the blurry shot done by the camera on a phone and no biological evidence of it was found, the debate raged on.  Like things of this nature in the past, the public at large couldn’t get enough of it and the media was filled with all they could find on it for days.

Sitting in his penthouse apartment in the classiest part of Tokyo, Sesshomaru glared at the blurry black and white picture on the front page.  If the picture wasn’t bad enough the description under it of an ugly monster made him grind his teeth in frustration.  The headline, ‘Is This a Real Life Godzilla?’ made him want to howl in frustration.  Snorting in anger, he tossed the paper aside and crossed his arms over his chest glaring at it.

Looking up from the book she was reading while curled up on the sofa, Kagome giggled at her mate.  “I told you playing fetch while on the coast wasn’t a good idea.”

Glaring at her, he sniffed then said, “How was I to know some fool had their camera phone out while I was retrieving?  If that indignity wasn’t bad enough... to label this Sesshomaru a Godzilla is worse!  I’m not a lizard, I’m an inu!”

“That will teach you to check to see if anyone is around before you play fetch in the water again.” Kagome laughed, unable to help herself.
