Christmas decorating by slycats

Chapter 1

Sesshomaru was surprised to see Kagome up before he left for the office. Hugging his mate, he pulled back a little to look at her face “What has you up so early mate??”

“Sesshomaru – honestly you forgot? Christmas decorations”

“Oh yes, How could I forget?” he said with a little bit of sarcasm.

“Just wait till you get home. Everything will be beautiful. I’ve decided on a red and white theme.”

“Hn” was the only response Kagome got as Sesshomaru kissed her and left for the office.

Later that evening, after what turned out to be a horrendous day of meetings and problems, he arrived home. Sesshomaru left his shoes and briefcase by the front door and walked to the living room. He took a quick glance around for his mate. Not seeing her still decorating the 12 foot tree he started to walk to another part of the house to find her. It was then he did a double take towards the fire place.

What on earth had she done?!” Kagome” he called, trying hard to keep the volume off his voice normal and controlled. Not getting a response he called again this time a little louder.  There was still no answer.  He looked once more at the fireplace. How dare she, she will pay for this.
Control be damned “KAGOMEEEEE!” came the roar from Sesshomaru as he continued to stare at the fireplace mantel. Just as he began to fill his lungs with air and call for his mate, again she rounded the corner.  “Yes dear, you bellowed?”

“Yes, Ka-go-me” he ground out between clenched fangs. “Care to explain this to me?” A clawed hand gestured towards the fireplace mantel.

Kagomes eyes followed where Sesshomaru was pointing.  Looking at a length of red and white glittered garland stretched out across the mantel.  “Yes – it’s garland.” She giggled. “Isn’t it pretty?”
“HN” Sesshomaru was seething “I see garland, as in one of your Christmas decoration?”
“Ummm ,Uhhh yes”   “Kagome , care to tell me why you found it necessary to use this Sesshomaru Mokomoko as GARLAND?”
