“*sighs* They said if I don’t write this they will not allow me to continue with any other stories I might write so here it goes I am writing the story.

 Kagome sat on her bed in her home away from the dangers of the Sengoku period[1] to her Modern day period. She missed the comforts of sleeping in a bed, taking a shower, and eating food that has not been invented yet in the other period. But, she missed the clean air and the sense of belonging that came from the Sengoku period. The air here was filled with fumes from all the various machines that came with this time. It was always noisy and bustling here and to get that in the other era she would have to go to a large village. Most of all there was no school in the Sengoku period!

 Kagome looked down at the piece of paper that sat in her lap telling her that she has finally graduated school and could move on to higher things like a good high school and college. Kagome knew she barely even made it passed middle school so taking on high school will just have to wait till her duty in the other era was finished.

 Kagome reached up to grab the little vile filled with her hated duty around her neck with a small sigh. The Jewel of four souls she had shattered on her way to the Sengoku period. Her loud mouth companion should take some of the blame but no it was all her fault since she cannot shoot a bow worth crap. Even now she was worthless to her little group that grew over the three years she has been there. They would protect her with their very lives but she wished she could be of some use. They never had the time to stop at Keade’s village so she can learn some of her miko powers from the old village miko Keade. Inuyasha wouldn’t let them stop and drove them on like a slave drive. Coming home was the worst fight between the two when he would compare her to his old love and her before life Kikyo. For once she wished that he would just see Kagome not Kikyo! She has given up hope to have anything with the hanyou and moved on but it still hurts when he calls her names and treats her as just a shard detector.

 Kagome always wondered if Miroku, Sango, and even maybe Shippo may think her as useless as Inuyasha saw her. Sometimes they would look at her with blank expressions on their faces. She knew they pitied her over the back and forth Inuyasha does between Kikyo and her. She told Sango that she was giving up on the pup and Sango only said that it was for the best. Shippo use to rely on her for everything and now wants to defend himself and would yell at her if she sat Inuyasha for picking on him. Miroku and her use to have small little off side conversations that stopped randomly when Miroku politely like always declined to have another off side conversation with her. Sango and her who use to be thick as thieves are not so close anymore. She didn’t want to bath with her anymore and would go out of her way not to have any big conversations with her. The only one who didn’t change was Kirrara and she was always by herself or with Sango.  

With another little sigh Kagome slipped into her bed and fell fast asleep unknowing of what may come in her dreams leaving her helpless and unprotected from a world that is just as dangerous as any other.

[1] Sengoku period means warring states period you may post that it is to be the Feudal era if you like. I got the info about these periods from the wiki and anyone can go in there and change it.
