Chapter One: The Arrival
It had been 5 years since the defeat of Naraku. Kagome had chosen to live with Inuyasha and by now he had marked her as his mate. In the act of the mating, Kagome had gotten pregnant and by now they had two children. Though they were only a quarter demons the blood of the dog demon family that Inuyasha belonged too still flowed strong through the veins of his children. Though raising a family, Inuyasha’s attitude had changed somewhat although that did not stop his occasional arguments with Kagome. For her part, Kagome did not resort to using the subjugation beats to win or stop an argument but regardless Inuyasha still wore them incase his demon blood took over.
Rin now slightly older still lived with the elder Miko Kaede, and every once in a while Sesshomaru would come around and leave her things without being seen of course. On occasion Kaede would ask Kagome to write something down for him, informing him on Rin’s progress. Though without Miko Powers, it became clear to Kaede that Rin had a natural talent for Herbalism mainly due to the fact that flowers had always held her fascination. On a regular basis a Demon healer, under orders from Sesshomaru, would come to teach Rin demon Herbalism as well.
All in all things were progressing well without many problems, except for Sesshomaru. His advisors continued to pester him to produce an heir, just in case the unthinkable should happen. Jaken actually agreed with the advisors however he knew better than to pester his great lord with it. Saying it once would be enough as repeating himself would only serve to be a waste of breath and depending on his lord’s attitude, or quite possibly his last.
Standing on a tree branch, Sesshomaru observed the quiet village. If one were to ask, he would say that he was simply observing them, trying to figure out the fastest route to Kaede’s hut without being seen. In reality he was observing Rin. Demon or not, she was like a daughter to him. And though he despises half-breeds, for some odd reason he wished her to have a demon mate. The thought of seeing Rin grow old and die within some 70 years already weighted heavily upon his mind.
“Milord, what are you waiting for?” said Jaken, as he firmly gripped onto the staff of two heads, trying desperately not to fall out of the tree.
“Be quiet.” Sesshomaru ordered firmly, a death threat lacing his words. The imp said nothing more, a feeling of impending doom taking hold of him.
Truly Sesshomaru felt quiet annoyed by the imp’s unpleasant voice. The fact that he had highly sensitive hearing only made hearing him speak even worse. Though he didn’t particularly feel anything, he did find a certain amount of enjoyment every time Rin would play around to great annoyance of Jaken of course. But then he already knew that Jaken would shed tears of Rin’s life would finally fade away as all humans do. No, Jaken wouldn’t just shed tears; he would be somewhat heartbroken as well while shedding tears for himself, and tears that Sesshomaru himself could not.
“Jaken.”
The imp who was also carefully observing Rin snapped back to attention, startled by Sesshomaru’s sudden address of him. “Yes Milord?”
“Wait here, I will return shortly.”
“As you wish Milord.” Jaken answered while bowing to his lords back side.
As his lord vanished into thin air, Jaken heaved a heavy sigh worthy of a much larger creature then himself.

Out in the field, Inuyasha was sitting with his back pressed up against a Sakura tree while his mate sat on his lap, and on her lap his two daughters were soundly sleeping.
Rin was sitting next to them, practicing her writing as Sesshomaru had wished. “I wonder when I will see Lord Sesshomaru again.” She sighed.
“Do you miss him?” Asked Kagome from the comfort Inuyasha’s embrace brought.
“Of course I do.” Rin said firmly.
“Something tells me he is closer then you think.” Inuyasha said absently.
This peaked the young woman’s interest. “Lord Sesshomaru is here!?” she exclaimed, demanding to know. “Where!?”
Feeling an upset glare coming from his mate, he quickly thought to fix the situation. “I… don’t know.” He lied. “I can smell him near but not exactly where.”
“Then I will go look for him!” She said jumping onto her feet. If it wasn’t for the fact that Kagome had grabbed her hand, Rin would have been off in an instant. “Why are you stopping me?” she asked.
“Rin… it is dangerous out there. It is best to wait here.” Kagome tried to calm her down, but it was quickly obvious that it wasn’t going to be this simple.
“But I want to see Lord Sesshomaru, Master Jaken and Ah-un so badly. I haven’t seen them in a few years now.”
“Well this is what he wants.” Said Inuyasha.
“So Lord Sesshomaru doesn’t want to see me?” Rin wondered, her eyes starting to lightly water over at this notion.
Kagome lightly tapped her lover on the nose for his tactless methods. “No Rin, he loves you and he wants to see you. It is just that doing so will put you at risk.” Kagome said as she gently guided Rin down onto the ground. ‘That’s only half a lie of course.’ She thought to herself.
As Kagome words slowly cheered Rin up, Inuyasha just couldn’t help but wonder what his half-brother had planned for the girl. Surely Sesshomaru was aware of a human’s short lifespan, the only way to extend it would be having Rin mated to a demon, the only problem however was the fact that Sesshomaru had a natural hate for humans, that and he despised half breeds even more which would be the ultimate end result of having Rin mated to a Demon. He had thought that Sesshomaru would want to mate Rin himself once she became of age but that thought had quickly been put down when his half-brother disappeared from the general area months at a time. There wouldn’t be any chance that he’d ever leave something so precious to him behind for that amount of time.

About fifty kilometers to the south of the village, trouble was brewing in a clearing in the forest. Small bolts of lightning were sparking from the ground onto a tiny ball of chrome that was floating about half a meter from the ground. With each bolt the sphere grew larger and larger until its diameter was two meters. After a second in that state the ball collapsed into its self to form a portal. A hunter who had been out looking for rabbits noticed the strange activity and decided to investigate. As he tried to peer into the hole of the portal he was surprised to see a woman walk out of the portal. Or at least her face was feminine, but her body was masculine. The clothes she wore were green like the leaves of the trees with spots of dark green. The strange outfit was held together by a weird looking Obi, and she held a peculiar object in her hands which she had rested up against her shoulder as she looked over it.
Though frightened, the hunter didn’t dare move as the woman moved away a little from the portal and dropped to one knee. On her left wrist a strange light started to glow and wrap its way around it. She lifted that wrist from the object to bring it to her mouth. -“Area clear, ready for full deployment.”- She spoke. The language she spoke was alien to the hunter’s ears, and he looked on in horror as three men who wore the same style clothing emerged from the portal. To his great surprise the first man’s skin was as dark as the night. The second one was white and without hair on his head while the third and last had hair of thick strands a bit longer then his own index finger whose skin color was a shade lighter then the first man. The men moved around the woman to form a perimeter near the portal’s entrance, when they had all rested onto one knee the woman yet again brought her glowing wrist to her mouth. -“We’re ready for you doc.”- Several moments passed and another woman emerged, this woman had a skin tone lighter then the dark man but darker then the white man. Oddly enough this woman wore a ceremonial kimono of the kind that only Royalty had.
The exotic yet tall woman looked out of place but yet she looked very desirable to the hunter. She reached inside of her handbag and retrieved yet another strange looking object before she knelt down and stuck a strange type of rod into the ground. From a distance the hunter thought that the strange rod had swallowed the ground around it as a small hole was left in the ground. -“quantum date confirmed, we are roughly two weeks early.”- She said while looking at the oddly dressed woman. The woman nodded in response. -“Control the date is good, we will proceed with the mission.”-
-“(Roger that Major Aiko, Good luck with the mission and god speed. You’re sacrifice will be remembered.)”- The hunter heard a voice respond but he did not see who it was.
All 5 people now turned to the portal as it started to disappear, shrinking until it was gone. -“Well there goes our ride home.”- The first and dark skinned man muttered.
-“You knew that even before you signed up for this mission Louis.”- The oddly dressed woman seemed to reply to this with a hit of annoyance.
-“Dang Aiko, I knew that. Just can’t believe ya’ll were serious about this is all.”- The Dark skinned man replied.
The white man throw sighed deeply before turned around. -“Let’s just do our job and try to find this Sesshomaru guy without getting killed people.”-
-“Ya man, I agree with Abe ‘ere.” Said the Man with think dark strands for hair -“We gotta be cruising out ‘an finding da demon man.”-
-“For sure Jomo, if you’re so eager then why not lead the formation huh?”- The Black skinned man bit back.
-“Excuse me…”- the Royalty looking Lady intervened. -“Isn’t there a chain of command here?”-
-“Don’t worry Karin.”- The oddly dressed woman spoke as the hunter saw her gesture towards the bushes he was hiding behind in an odd manner. -“Louis likes to joke around by stating the obvious, Abraham quickly gets the idea that he’s not taking it serious and bites in on it while Jomo just gives his opinion not really caring what was going on. Which of course Louis sling shots right back at Jomo.”-
-“Isn’t that a bit… strange…?”- The Royalty seemed to wonder what the other woman was pointing at.
The white man seemed to scoff at that. -“What just because we are soldiers we all have to have a stick up our asses? Horse shit.”-
-“Major Aiko, do you actually condone such language and manners from your men?”-
-----
-“Jomo, Eight, Louis four, Abraham twelve.”- Aiko commanded, while Jomo and Louis nodded and moved away Abraham sighed deeply. Muttering –“I’m getting too old for this shit…”- and also moving away.
Karin wanted to start and follow them but was held back by Aiko. -“I do condone it; because they all know when it is or isn’t the time and at what extend I allow it. But if I call it, they will stop without any argument.”-
“That’s not how the military is supposed to operate!” Karin exclaimed at Aiko using Japanese in a tone that showed her anger and disbelieve.
“Is the military supposed to take on missions of no return and mess with the time line?” Aiko bit back.
-----
Seeing the two women fight verbally was a bit of an exciting thing for the hunter, the only woman he had ever seen to display such a spirit was the young Priestess that was mated to a half demon not far from here. Before he could start to enjoy it however, the ruffling of clothes had caught his attention. Turning around he saw the man with hair in thick strands and the black man coming up behind him. Before he could get off his knees and turn around, the ruffling became louder until it was right up close. Before he could realize it, he was laying on the ground. Looking around in shock from the violent attack he realized that his arms were restrained in a strange fashion on his back while he lay belly down on the ground.
-“Got ya now China-man.”- The Black man said, his voice laced with amusement that even the hunter could detect.
-“This brotha’ is Japanese man.”- The man with strange hair replied neutrally.
-“Aiko!”- Yelled the bald man as the other two continued their conversation. -“Boxed one!”-
“Let me go. Please let me go!” the hunter begged.
“Relax, we won’t harm you.” The strangely dressed woman said as she walked up and knelt down beside the hunters face so he could see her.
“What are you doing? Unhand this poor man!” The Royal woman yelled and as she stomped her feet in approach.
-----
Her men looked at her as she looked at Karin -“What on earth are you doing?”- Aiko breathed, her voice laced with a commanding tone.
-“Playing the part of Royalty.”- Karin said back, her tone sly, totally unchanged by Aiko’s commanding stature.
Giving a nod at her men she whispered –“if this comes around to bite us in the ass, I’m holding yours responsible.”-
-“Understood Major.”-
