The Snows of Spring by summerbirdy
The Snows of Spring
A warm breeze on her hair
As she walked down the path.
A shining sun, no cloud ahead
Her raven hair in sun did shine.
And above
Blue skies,
Her eyes were bluer still.
She walked and walked
'Till evening came
And sun began to set.
To the girl, last light of day,
Of snow
Of spring
Showed secrets of this land.
In the valley that she so roamed,
Stood an ancient tree.
On it's branches flowers bloomed.
And girl remembers
Stories told,
By old,
Than under blooms is Love.
He travelled through his lands,
Caretaker of the Forrest.
He saw the day and breeze so warm
He knew the smell of spring.
And life
So bright
Was his to give or hold.
He sat under oldest tree,
That blooms every spring,
And felt the joy of life.
Tree whispered words of happiness
Of fate,
Of love.
And he fell asleep.
The girl with eyes so blue
Saw man with silver hair.
And felt the twinge
In her heart so warm.
And story
Of glory
Of Love was told a true.
So she sat, next to him to be.
To watch this creature sleep.
For no man could ever be
So ethereal or beautiful.
And she waited,
Enchanted
Him to rouse from his sleep.
And as he opens golden eyes
He thought he still was dreaming,
For a human girl cannot have
Eyes that match the sky.
And his heart
Did start
Staccato hard and furious.
Blue met gold that night
When ancient tree was blooming.
And so the story goes;
Truest love was acted upon.
And strong,
So strong
Was two hearts beating as one.
And silent breeze took by
Gathering the flowers with it
And on the pair the petals fall.
Like snow it kept on falling
To those
Who love.
The snows of spring.
A/N I was again prompted by Velvy. Sorry it took so long.
