Defying Death

Sesshomaru came to the dark river, blacker than the shadows that hugged him. Shimmers of silver moved with the currents from bank to bank. A familiar aura drew closer and Sesshomaru crouched to prepare to pounce. As soon as the spirit rounded the bend he reached a hand into the river and pulled it from completing its voyage. The miko wasn’t allowed to die without his permission. His stupid half-brother proved that he couldn’t protect her so Sesshomaru would take on that responsibility. Kagome would become his the sooner she realized she belong to him and him alone the better.
