Wow, it has been ages since i got something up here!! So sorry about that, seriously! But i intend to do the prompts for this event, so hopefully it can spark me to be a bit more productive with my other pieces :P

He raced through the trees, a flicker of silver to the eye of anyone who might happen to catch him, all in pursuit of the origin of a scent newly caught on the wind. The action was set in motion before his brain even truly processed what he’d inhaled. His movement was instinctual, reflexive; nothing could have kept him from making his way toward that scent, that growing presence, a force so strong yet soft.

The only thought his mind could form was her. Her, her, her.

How long had it been since she was last here? Since he’d last taken in that scent, felt her breath, the pulse of her heart, the flow of her power, circulating around him like a storm and he always in the eye.

The leaves broke and there she was, reclining against the rotted wood of that ancient well. He knew she could sense him, but she kept her eyes away, a warm smile curling her lips nonetheless.

She’d promised to return in the spring. Promised to come when the first flowers bloomed, colors and shapes made to sway in the light breeze of the season.

She’d promised, and at last she was here.
