Steam rose from the hot spring nestled near the base of Totosai’s mountain home. One of its occupants swatted at the water, creating a mini tidal wave and nearly toppling the origami boat floating on the surface.
“Kagome-san,” a young voice sounded, “we should play a game.”
The miko was still unused to this minified version of a former enemy.
“What kind of game, Sesshoumaru-chan?”
“I know!” He shouted excitedly and leapt, stark naked, to a rocky outcrop near the spring. He brandished a broken branch excitedly. “I shall be a pirate! And you will be a marooned princess!”

Prompt: Plank

Sesshoumaru poured over the book about European pirates Kagome had brought him from the future. Never having spent much time at sea he was fascinated with all of their customs, even if some were disgusting. This walking the plank idea, an effective slow death and then unceremonious burial at sea seemed strangely poetic.
Tessaiga… to Kagome’s friends it was like a pirates plank, that led to the netherworld rather than the sea.
He glanced to the Tenseiga lying beside Kagome’s bag on the ground. It was his life raft, keeping him from death but trapping him in a child’s body.
Prompt: Hobsonize

Sesshoumaru finished reading about the American sea captain “Richard Pearson Hobson”. The stories of the male being kissed on his return to this “United States” made him think.
Kagome often bemoaned the loss of this Inuyasha, a hanyou male. But, Totosai spoke of a possible method of returning him, and her other companions to the land of the living. How would Kagome react to this males return?
Would she kiss him? She might… he’d seen women do such things when greeting husbands on their returns from battle.
Young Sesshoumaru shivered at the though. Girls, and especially kissing them, was gross.
Prompt: Hornswaggle
Synonyms: bamboozle, beguile, betray, bluff, cajole, cheat on, circumvent, you get the idea.

Sesshoumaru closed his book and walked over to where Kagome and the sword smith Totosai were speaking. He sensed they weren’t telling him something and that something had his hair on end since they’d left Totosai’s mountain. With resolve he stomped up to them, trying to be as intimidating as possible.
“Why has my father not yet come for me?” At the sound of his childish voice the conversation between the priestess and sword smith stopped.
“You haven’t told him?” Totosai whispered, his eyes impossibly wide and his voice hushed in grave tones.
“I didn’t know how,” Kagome whispered despondently.
Prompt: Shanty (a pirate’s song)

“Oh, better far to live and die… Under the brave black flag I fly…” The priestess’ voice rang through the small clearing. The small, silver haired, inu pup curled into her with his face buried in her bosom to hide his tears.
“But I'll be true to the song I sing… And live and die a Pirate King.” Sesshoumaru finished a moment later.
Sesshoumaru then abruptly stood up and dried his eyes with his sleeve. “You’re lying! My father is not dead!” He shouted before bolting into the woods. “I’ll show you! I’ll find him!” His voice sounded from afar.
Prompt: Booty

They found within an hour. Kagome breathed a sigh of relief when the spotted his silver head bobbing up and down over the forest floor. It wasn’t until Totosai touched her arm to keep her from advancing that she realized something was amiss.
Sesshoumaru’s body stilled, tense and ready to attack, then he turned to them. His rage-red eyes were revealed, as was the kill that lay before him. The mid-sized deer was torn open at the gut and blood stained the young youkai’s face.
“Don’t move,” Totosai whispered, “He has not yet learned to control himself.”
Then Kagome cried.
Prompt: Sprugs (untrained people or children)
100 words
Kagome tried to quiet her sobs as the finally calmed Sesshoumaru slumbered with his head in her lap. The image of his tiny hands clawing and tearing clumsily at dead flesh, covered in blood, was etched in her memory. When he finally collapsed she could see the turmoil and pain staining his sleeping features and feel his torment in each restless movement during his nightmares.
He was a child thrown into a world of unknowns, uncharacteristically trusting in his tender age and left with no one who truly knew how to care for him.
Kagome cried, because she betrayed him.
