     There was silence save for the crackling of the fire. Inuyasha kept shooting glares at the stoic taiyoukai. Said demon sat across from the hanyou, blatantly ignoring the death stares directed toward him.

     Kagome, it seemed, was oblivious to the tension between he two brothers.

     “Tea, Sesshoumaru?” Golden eyes flitted in her direction, landing first on her face, then on the cup she held out to him.

     “Hn.” He took the offered cup after a moment. Inuyasha’s eyes narrowed as Sesshoumaru took a sip, much to Kagome’s delight. The demon acknowledged neither hanyou nor human, and turned his attention back to the fire.

Just thought I'd mention... title is completely unrelated. For now. I needed a title for this soon-to-be collection, and I was listening to music. The song 'Ever' by Emilie Autumn came up, and I thought "eh, that'll do."
