A Tail

A steady beeping noise to her left annoyed Kagome into wakefullness. She moved to turn it off, reaching out with her right hand but a dull pain in her side stops her. She groaned and peels her eyes open.* Where am I?* She thinks moving her gaze around the room.

 " Oh... Awake so soon?"

Kagome turns her head at the unfamiliar voice. A pretty blond nurse comes to her side, chart in hand.

" What happened? How did I get here?" she asks the nurse ,who was adjusting her IV. The nurse stops a confused look on her face.

" You don't remember the accident?" Kagome shakes her head.

" What accident!" She demands in frustration. The nurse hurries from the room calling over her shoulder." I'll get your doctor."

Kagome huffed and stared angrily at out the door. She sat up in bed as she hears foot steps approaching. A gray haired man walked in followed by the same blond headed nurse.

 " Goodmorning Miss Higurashi, I'm Dr. Harvey and I'll be taking care of you during your stay with us. Now, nurse Megan tells me you don't remember how you got here. is that correct?" He asked

At Kagomes nod the doctor cleared his throat. " Well Miss Higurashi it seems you were hit by a car earlier this morning, but only substained minor injuries. We have not been able to contact your family yet because you didn't have any ID on you at the time of the accident that listed your home number or contact information, but you can make the nessesary calls now that your awake."

After allowing Kagome to call her mother and grandfather the doctor looks Kagome over to make sure she hadn't pulled any stitches in her sleep.

" Now could you try to stand up for me? I'd like to make sure you have full controll over your legs." Nurse Megan helps Kagome out of the bed, balancing her before stepping back. Kagome takes a few steps toward the door.

Suddenly she shrieked whipped around. " Something brushed my legs!" she yelled in fright. She turned angrily at the sound of the nurses laughter.

" Thats just your tail sweetheart." she said smiling. Kagome jaw dropped

" My What!"
