Chapter 1- Hook, Line, and Sinker.

A/N: Hi, guys! Well, I hope you enjoy this story of mine, -- It's AU, so, yes, Sesshomaru may be a tad OOC. I'll try to keep him as close to in character as possible. I like a strong Kagome; and what better way then to have HER be the predator? I hope you enjoy this one, and review so I understand if you guys like it or not! I will feel discouraged if I don't get any reviews. :/ Makes me feel like no one is really reading. Anyways, until later!

A lone figure crept up against the ledge, slowly inching towards her prize. Her padded shoes made silent shuffles against the brick, and with cold eyes looked down; the city streets were void of walking humans, and few cars dotted the road. She turned towards the left, slowly inching towards the window sill.

With a swoop, she slid in the opened window, and landed on her feet. She turned her head to the sides, no one was here. She brought out her backpack, and quickly searched the rooms. She piled fine jewelry into her sack, spare change, electronics... You name anything worth something at the pawn shop, it was in there.

With a smile, she exited out of the window once again, murmuring. "You should always close your windows, even on the seventh floor. Don't want a savage like me breaking in."

"Kagome!" At the mentioning of her name, she shouted. "Yes, Milady?" She rushed forward, her order book clutched tightly in her hands. She smoothed out the wrinkles in her skirt, and entered the office. She questioned. "Was I needed for something, Milady?" The old woman gestured towards the police officer, and he cleared his throat. He held up his notebook.

"I'd like to speak with you, Miss." Kagome's face set into a mask of indifference. She nodded, sitting down in the leather chair. She crossed her legs smoothly, the chair groaning in protest. She cocked her head to the side. "Is something wrong, officer?" Her voice was icy; there was no warmth directed to their kind.

He cleared his throat, fingering his white collar. "A police officer was found dead on the streets. Seems his body was dumped in an alleyway, where people could find him easily. Do you know anything about this? Did you see suspicious people?"

Kagome narrowed her eyes. She shook her head, clicking her tongue in distaste. "Can't say I have, sir. Did something else happen? Was there any evidence of struggle?" Kagome tapped her finger against her chin.

He frowned. "From our evidence, he did not know who was killing him. He was sliced at the throat. His house was also robbed." Kagome shook her head, faking sobs. She was a born actress. "Oh, officer! I'm so sorry! Such a terrible thing to happen to our protectors. Please give my best regards to his family."

He nodded, flipping his notebook closed. He sighed from exhaustion. "Well, I believe that'll be all. If you find something out, please let me know." Kagome nodded, and escorted him out of the cafe. When they left, she turned her back, smirking.

She wouldn't have killed him if he wasn't a cop.

He rubbed his temples in frustration, his eyes closed. Even in his office he could still hear the ringing phones and irritated voices of those answering them. He heard a knock at his door, and mumbled a bitter "come in". It was Kouga.

"Captain, you know that incident about the police officer killed about five days ago?" The irritated captain nodded. Kouga scratched the back of his head. "Well, another one has been murdered. This time, it was the one working on the case." The irritated demon stood from his desk, his pristine white uniform shifting with his body.

"What? Who was it?" Kouga searched through his notebook, and "aha'd" when he came to a name. "Akitoki, sir. He was sliced at the throat." The standing figure rubbed his chin in thought, whispering. "It doesn't care if its kill is human or demon. Interesting. Well, now we know something about them." His golden eyes flickered.

"We know of their disdain for law enforcement."

Kagome stepped towards her apartment door, shuffling for the key in her purse. Pulling out her keys with satisfaction, she entered her small home, mumbling. "I'm home."

Kagome smiled as her cat Buyo waddled in, his chest erupting with purrs. She patted him gently on the head, and stepped over the growing pile of laundry in her hallway. She made a mental note: Do laundry tonight.

Pulling a key from her pocket, she opened the locked door, closing it behind her. She approached the computer chair, sighing as she slid in her seat. She faced her chair towards the many monitors in front of her. She lit a cigarette, relishing the taste of hot tobacco. Putting the poison stick on the side of her ashtray, she typed into one of her many keyboards. Pulling up a document, she smiled.

"Takashi Akitoki brings the count to twenty." She dragged the document into a file labeled "DEAD". He was the seventh human police officer she had murdered. With a smile, she recalled the moments before his death.

"My, you're such a lovely lady." His eyes were narrowed in pleasure as he watched her hips move closer towards him. She placed a lustful kiss on his lips, her mouth moving closer towards his jugular. She raked her fingers through his dark hair, a sultry smile decorating her lips. She whispered into his mane. "Of course, officer. Though I wonder if you have something I desire..." She trailed her index finger down the valley of her breasts, reaching into her tank top

Akitoki's eyes darted from her moving lips to her heaving chest, and smiled. "And what would be what you desire?" She leaned forward, her lips nibbling on his ear, and her knife poised at his throat.

 "Blood curdling screams, of course."

Kagome sighed, stretching her arms above her head. She had used a method of seduction this time, knowing it would be easier. Human men were so easy to fool. She clicked her mouse once, pulling up a folder filled with the names and photos of the Tokyo Police Department. She picked a name at random, and smiled when the picture appeared before her.

He was most definitely a looker. She traced her fingers over the picture, mostly touching his amber eyes and pale lips. She smiled wickedly. Her next target would be Taisho Sesshomaru. She almost burst out into laugh when she read his title. Police Chief. What an achievement it would be to bring the Keeper of Peace to his knees! Kagome flipped open her cell phone, dialing a number. She whispered.

"Give me everything and anything on a Taisho Sesshomaru. Even to where he spends his time-- Especially businesses." She flipped the phone closed, a smirk following close behind.

 "Of course, Master."

He rubbed the bridge of his nose, stepping over the endless amounts of clutter. The scent of death and arousal hit him strongly. He looked towards the discarded body of Akitoki, and shook his head. He had fallen greatly. He looked at Kouga, frowning. "Tell me, was their any evidence you found?" Kouga shook his head, his dark mane pouring over his shoulders.

"That's what frustrates me. This killer was efficient; barely any blood spilled. But we do know one thing-- they killed him after getting him in the mood. As far as I know, Akitoki wasn't gay. So..." Sesshomaru cut him off with a hand.

"Yes, our murderer was a woman." He nodded his head, thanking Kouga for the information. He exited the studio apartment, frowning. Who would someone target police officers... And why?

 - - - - -

Kagome scrubbed the tables, waiting for his arrival. She peered out the corner of her cerulean eyes, waiting for the bell to clang above the glass door. She smiled when she saw her prey. He strolled in with his pearly uniform hanging loosely off his body, and his silver tendrils tied in a regal hairstyle. If she hadn't known better, she would've called him a God. She approached him slowly, smiling.

"Good evening, officer. What will you be having tonight?" She held up her pad and pen jovially, eyes feigning innocence. Her insides, however, were screaming in disgust. Don't give him such a beautiful smile!  She willed her subconscious to be silent, and missed his order. She apologized. "I'm sorry, what was your order again?"

 - - - - -

His eyebrow twitched incessantly. This girl! He cleared his throat, practically snarling out his words. "If you were paying attention, you would've known, woman." He watched her eyes dance with amusement. She smiled, bowing her head apologetically. "I am sorry, sir. I am a stupid one; so please repeat your words." He nodded.

"Very well, then I'll have some coffee, and Udon." Kagome smiled, and exited towards the kitchen.

- - - - -

"You bitch! I'll have you arrested for assaulting a police officer!" Kagome smirked. He could do whatever he wants. She'd get out, anyway. "I simply tripped; don't blame me for that simple mistake. I am only human, and only a stupid girl." She "desperately" tried wiping the dark stain off of his uniform. She hated arrogant people-- Especially police officers. She clicked her tongue in disdain.

"That'll be a tough stain to erase, you know." She looked into his eyes, her own sparkling with amusement. Her victim narrowed his eyes, snarling. "You'll pay for the dry cleaning, girl." She mocked distress; her hands covering her mouth. "But, sir! I am but a poor lower class woman. I could not afford to pay for it. Is there another way for me to pay for it?" She looked into his eyes, tears glistening in the corners of her own.

He narrowed his golden eyes towards her figure, whispering heatedly. "Very well. You will be my personal servant until I feel you've earned freedom." Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance; this action, however, was not because of her brilliant acting skills. Who the hell did this guy think he was bitching at her like that? She snorted-- Oh, yeah, he was the police chief. Kagome sighed, releasing her frustrations.

"Very well, sir. When shall I perform my duties?" He let a wicked smile grace the corners of his lips, and with a flick of his wrist, grabbed his handcuffs; successfully securing her wrists behind her back in one swift movement. He spat.

"Once you're done serving in my jail cell." He glanced at the name-tag tacked onto the front of her apron. "Kagome Higurashi, you are under arrest for the provoking and assault of a police officer." He prodded her in the back, herding her towards his automobile.

"Watch your head, now." He slammed the door in her face, chuckling as he slid into the driver's seat.

 - - - - -

Kagome sat on the bench, unamused. She had been here well over an hour now. She crossed her stocking clad legs, shouting. "Alright, I've had enough of this! Why can't you just quit being an ass and accept the fact that the coffee incident was an accident?" Her prosecutor spun his chair around to face her, frowning. Had this girl just called him an... Ass?  Sesshomaru spat icily.

"Girl, if you were smart you'd know insulting a police officer while already in a jail cell will do no more than lengthen your sentence?" Kagome shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "I have all the time in the world, Lord Ass-wipe." Sesshomaru arched an eyebrow that disappeared into the white of his fringe. "Such a change of attitude. Very well, then maybe I should keep you here three days longer than expected."

Kagome smirked, pointing an accusatory finger towards her captor. "Then, I'm afraid you'd be guilty of kidnapping, and I will press charges." Kagome crossed her arms over her chest in victory. She hadn't strayed from her mission; she knew where her priorities were. One; perk his interest. Two; get involved in his life. Three; crush him.

With the method she would follow her mission, however, was still unclear to her--Though she quickly dispersed seduction from her mind. He was probably the only male in the world who didn't desire getting laid. She laughed, tossing her head back heartily. "Haha, probably... Gay!"

 - - - - -

For once, Sesshomaru was at a loss for words. She had used his threat against him, threatening to press him with charges! He was woken from his stupor by her incredulous remark. "Haha, probably... Gay!"  He stiffened; he had heard that statement more than once. He flung himself against the bars of her cell, his eyes flashing crimson.

"Care to make that remark again, woman?" She did not shy away from him as he had expected her to, instead opting to arch a finely shaped eyebrow. "I'm surprised, Milord. Humor me; is this not the first instance you were mistaken for a homosexual?" Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes, settling back into his seat. He lifted his chin.

"That is not of your concern, girl. I was simply surprised by your outlandish behavior." Sesshomaru turned his attention to the television in the corner of her cell. He cradled the side of his face in his hand, suppressing the urge to sigh. The silence which had once been cherished was now unnerving.

He almost sighed in relief when she spoke after an hour of boredom. Her question was irritatingly simple and lacking in offense. Where was the spitfire? He watched her legs swing like pendulums in front of her with little interest. He was amazed she wasn't diagnosed with ADD. "So, what exactly is your name? You never told me, even in the three hours I've been here."

 - - - - -

Kagome felt like smiling in victory. So far, her plan was running smoothly! She had completed number one on her list, and was already making progress with number two. She was, after all, his personal servant now. She wrinkled her nose in disdain; different than what she imagined, but that was fine. This route was alright, too. She looked towards his direction when he spoke.

"Chief Taisho. Sesshomaru, to be exact." She rolled her eyes. She knew his name already. She leaned back against the concrete wall. "Why add the 'to be exact'?" Sesshomaru leaned back in his chair, still upholding the intimidating aura. He spoke coldly. "My father and brother are also in law enforcement. I just happen to reign over Tokyo." Sesshomaru glanced at the clock behind her-- He had kept her longer than intended.

He stood from his seat, approaching her cell with the key dangling in his hands. He opened her door, allowing her to exit. He narrowed her eyes. "I'm afraid that you'll no longer be graced with my presence. I do hope you'll never have to be arrested by me again. Lord knows what your parents would think." He pulled a card from his breast pocket, handing it towards her.

"And pertaining to your question as to when you shall fulfill your duties, you will be at the cafe tomorrow morning at 5:30 AM. Any later, and the consequences will be dire." With a small smirk, he pushed her out of his building.

"Now, retreat from my sight. Until tomorrow, Higurashi."

A/N: Wonder what a "personal" servant is... >_>
