Shock

A teenage girl with raven hair and azure eyes stared in shock as she looked in her text book on myths and legends of feudal Japan.

"Hey Kagome, this lady in the picture looks just like you. Only she has demon markings." her friend Eri said to her practically squealing.

Kagome could only stare at the picture and nod. She had already read the paragraph four times. 'The legend of the Great Lady of the West, the mate of the Killing Perfect, was said to have a forgiving heart and courage that gave all hope. She melted the cold lord's heart and fell in love with the stoic demon. After many great challenges Lord Sesshomaru found a way to give his mate immortality so she could live with him forever and giving her demon traits. Int the picture the Lady is holding her first born son and heir to the West. Lady Kagome and Lord Sesshomaru ruled the West for many years before vanishing into the tales of time.'

"Wow, she even has your name!" Ayumi said giggling. "The baby is so cute, but what's with the dog ears?"

"The children were all hanyou, for Lady Kagome was a powerful human priestess in charge of protecting the Shikon No Tama. They called her the Shikon Miko before she mated with her Lord." their teacher explained to the class.

After Kagome went home she packed to get ready to return to the feudal era, but only one thing ran through her mind. 'How did I ever end up with Sesshomaru? He hates humans!' she kept asking herself but found it useless. She finished packing quickly and said goodbye to her family before jumping into the well. When she looked up, she smiled seeing the clear blue sky of the feudal era, but tensed as soon as she felt a very powerful demon's presence. 

"Miko, tell this Sesshomaru why you are in a well." he demanded looking down into the well at Kagome wearing his emotionless mask.

Kagome climbed out quickly and blushed. "I just came back from my home. May I ask why you're here Sesshomaru?" She asked politely avoiding his eyes. 

Sesshomaru stared at the young girl and smirked. Her power was greater than any demoness he had ever met, and she loved Rin. 'Yes she will make a perfect mate for this Sesshomaru.' he thought and turned his back to her. "You will find out soon enough... Kagome." 

Kagome stared in shock as he walked away from her. She then smiled remembering the picture in her text book. 'Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.' was her final thought before walking in the opposite direction towards the village where her friends were waiting for her to return.
