It was haunting him.

No correction the color was mocking him.

He glared at the sapphire that was laying innocently on the merchants stand and he was reminded of her eyes.

His gaze softened and he decided to buy the gem.

Ever since that day almost a week ago it seemed that the color blue would just pop from no where.

The midnight blue of the sky would remind him of her beautiful midnight tresses. The blue of the morning sky would remind him of her calm, cheerful and compassionate aura.

The ocean and even this sapphire would remind him of her beautiful cerulean eyes. He could drown in her eyes.

He looked at the sky and realized it was almost time. He began to walk towards the sacred tree and he felt an all to familiar ache.

His world had went from red to blue and it was all because a slip of a woman.

He watched as his brother gently sat Kagome in the casket he had gotten from her time and the regretful and guilt ridden look the hanyou wore.

Good at least the boy understands it is all his fault Sesshoumaru thought watching as each of her comrades sat a single white rose in her hands. 

The children walked up together and sat a rose on her chest and a great wail rose from the kitsune and Sango had to drag him away from his ‘mother’.

Sesshoumaru emerged from the shadows the sapphire necklace in his hand and everyone watched with wide eyes as the taiyoukai wearing all black walk towards the casket.

No one knew of his and the miko’s relationship.

No one knew that the woman in the casket was his mate.

Sesshoumaru kneeled down beside the casket and gently sat the necklace around her neck and reached behind her to clasp it on.

He leaned down and gently kissed her cheek.

“This is only a small token of my love mate. This sapphire is as blue as you” He whispered gently and he felt a breeze slowly caress his cheek making him aware of the single tear rolling down hi face.

Inuyasha watched his brothers with wide shocked eyes and when the taiyoukai turned and glared at the hanyou his eyes a blood red.

“Make no mistake hanyou. You shall pay for your foolishness.” He snarled and walked past him and Shippo and Rin silently followed.

I wonder what he meant by as blue as you Sango thought silently watching as the men lowered Kagome in to the silent earth

“I guess we will never know”
