Wrath

Inuyasha stood about equidistant between the two bitches, er mikos, as they slowly circled around him, waiting for the chance to launch themselves at each other again.

Kikyo had shown up not too long after they had stopped for the night and set up camp.  She was verbally taunting her reincarnation, trying to goad her into a fight for some reason.  He thought that they had pretty well settled their differences, and couldn’t understand what had set Kikyo off.

Kagome had tried ignoring her at first, then when that wasn’t working too well, decided to go fill the water containers, figuring that maybe while she was gone, Kikyo would become tired of whatever game she was playing and leave.  After picking up her bow, quiver and the water containers, she began to leave the clearing.

Kikyo narrowed her eyes and watched her reincarnation with rising indignantion.  ‘The bitch thinks she can just up and leave?  I’m not nearly done with her yet!’

Springing forward, she grabbed Kagome by the hair and yanked her backwards, causing her reincarnation to fall into her.  They both tumbled to the ground as Kikyo got in the first hit, slapping Kagome across the face.

From there it was a free-for-all.  Both mikos were a jumble of arms, legs and black hair, as they each tried to get the better of the other.  Amid the kicking, punching, slapping, hair pulling, scratching cat fight, they were screaming all kinds of profanities at each other.

Sango stood off to the side of the campfire, horrified, watching with wide eyes as the two mikos rolled in the dirt.  They were both screaming words that the taijiya had only ever heard coming from Inuyasha’s mouth, and some of them she wasn’t sure even he knew.

Kagome grunted as Kikyo rolled on top of her and she got a good solid punch in to Kikyo’s side when she raised an arm to try and slap her again.

Kikyo grabbed Kagome’s arm and twisted it, leaning down to bite her on the upper part of her arm.  Kagome screamed and managed to get her leg raised, driving her knee up into Kikyo’s stomach, pushing her off so she could get up.

“You stupid bitch, what the hell is wrong with you!”  Kagome screamed as she scrambled to her feet and rubbed the bite mark on her arm.

While Kikyo was getting up off the ground and pulling her torn haori closer around her body, Inuyasha finally jumped in between the two irate onnas.

Miroku had returned with an armload of firewood and was standing in shock at the edge of the clearing.  He blinked several times, not sure if he was actually seeing what his eyes told him he was seeing.  Slowly walking over to Sango, he dropped the firewood and looked back and forth between Kagome and Kikyo as they circled around Inuyasha.

“Ladies, can’t we all sit down and talk this out?”  He tapped his shakujo on the ground, making the rings jingle in the still evening air.

“Shut up, monk!”  Kikyo screamed at him.  “This is between me and my reincarnation.”

“Miroku, stay out of it, she’s crazy.”  Kagome continued to keep her eyes on Kikyo, not knowing what she would do next.

“Inuyasha is mine, you can’t have him.”  Kikyo was continuing to circle ever closer to Inuyasha, hoping to somehow rush past him and get a few more strikes in at her reincarnation.

“Is that what this is all about?”  Kagome took her eyes off Kikyo for one second to look around and see if Sesshoumaru had gotten back yet.  “I don’t want him as a romantic interest, only as a friend.”

Kikyo took the opportunity and launched herself past Inuyasha, tripping him as he tried to grab her and keep her from attacking Kagome again.  Hands curving into claws, she scratched Kagome on the face.

Kagome put a hand up to the stinging sensation on her cheek and drew back fingertips covered in blood.  “That’s it Kikyo!  I’ve had more than enough of you tonight.”

Inuyasha leaped at the fighting mikos trying to get in between them again.  Unfortunately, he was the one who was now getting kicked and scratched.  “Kagome, Kikyo, stop this right now!”

Kagome glared at him.  She was finally getting to act on her feelings about Kikyo, even if it was in self defense.  His name  came out in measured syllables, making his ears flatten against his head.  “In-u-ya-sha!”

He knew what this meant, and it wasn’t anything good.  If he was going down, both mikos were going to join him.  Wrapping an arm around each onna’s waist, he tried to hold them away from each other as the words were screamed at him.

“SIT, BOY!”

Sesshoumaru had taken Rin, Shippo and Jaken back to the fortress.  He was returning to the campsite riding Ah-Un, when he felt a disturbance and the flaring of holy powers; he narrowed his eyes as he scanned the forest and clearings below for the cause.

When he heard the hanyou’s name and the words that activated the kotodama no nenju, he smirked, wondering what the half-breed had done now to warrant the ‘sitting’.   He was then shocked to hear two female voices begin screaming at each other, using the most profane language he had ever heard, and that was saying a lot considering how well he knew the hanyou.

Recognizing the voices as belonging to Kagome and Kikyo, he jumped off Ah-Un, landing in a nearby clearing to run the rest of the way to the campsite.  He was faster than Ah-Un and he knew the tenbaryu would follow him.

Stopping at the edge of the clearing, he narrowed his eyes at the sight he beheld.  ‘What the…’  The hanyou was on the ground, wrestling with both mikos, his and the undead one.  He knew that Inuyasha had wanted both onnas for himself, but thought that once he had officially claimed Kagome, the hanyou had backed off.

“INUYASHA!”  Sesshoumaru’s deep baritone voice rang out over the small space.  “Unhand my miko at once!”  He strode over and grabbed Kagome around the waist trying to pull her away from Inuyasha.

“Ow, ow, OW!”  Kagome was still screaming loudly as Sesshoumaru tried to get her out from under Inuyasha.

“Damn it Kikyo!”  Inuyasha screamed.  “That’s my hair you’re yanking!”  His next thought was something to the effect of ‘Thank Kami Sesshoumaru is back, now at least I’ve got some help.’

The spell released Inuyasha at that point, and he jumped up grabbing Kikyo around the waist and pulling her off Kagome.

As Sesshoumaru hauled Kagome up off the ground  he got his first good look at the mess the two mikos had made of each other.  Torn clothing, bleeding scratches; it also looked like there would be some interesting bruises by tomorrow.  He shook his head as Kagome and Kikyo each struggled to continue the fight.

“Enough of this nonsense!”  Sesshoumaru roared.  He couldn’t decide if he was more upset, or more amused by the thought of the two mikos resorting to fisticuffs.  “What is the meaning of this.”

“She started it!”  Kagome pointed a finger at Kikyo, who suddenly noticed the long black hairs in Kagome’s clenched fingers.

“You little bitch, I told you that you couldn’t have Inuyasha!”  Kikyo was beyond enraged at the moment, and it was all Inuyasha could do to hold onto her.

“I already told you, I don’t want him!  You can have him!”  Kagome was beginning to calm down, and was now torn between thinking this was either just plain stupid, or it was too funny for words.

“Wait, what do you mean, you don’t want him?”  Kikyo was suddenly perplexed.  “I was told by a very reliable source that you and Inuyasha were in the hot spring the other night having relations!”

Kagome stood there shaking her head no as Sesshoumaru’s arm tightened around her waist.

“Then who…?”  Kikyo had just taken notice of the possessive stance of the inu-daiyoukai and her reincarnation.

“Not Inuyasha.”  Sesshoumaru smirked as the meaning of his words sunk into Kikyo’s head.

Inuyasha slapped his hand against the side of his neck.  “Myoga!”

“Ah, Master Inuyasha, I guess maybe I didn’t see as much as I thought I did at the hot spring.  It was very steamy and from my location in the grass, it wasn’t the clearest view.”  Myoga streaked from the clearing as fast as he could.

“Inuyasha, I will take my miko and tend to her wounds at the hot spring.  When we return, I don’t want to see you or your miko here at the campsite.”  Sesshoumaru smirked at the expression on Kikyo’s face as he turned and grabbed Kagome’s backpack before scooping up his miko and heading towards the hot spring.
